Who cares what the scousers think? What do they know about football anyway...

Screw little Mick. Bleeding traitor. Hope he breaks a leg. He cost us with all his damn hamstring injuries so I hope Newcastle suffer with his absence too.

Cisse twice the player MO is ??????????

Owen misses 5 out of 6 chances ???????????

Are you having a laugh ?????????????

MO's conversion rate n La Liga last season 34%

Cisse's conversion rate n any game other than a kick about against Eastern European part-timers - not a clue, but would bet a lot of money on it being less than half that.

Breaking a leg, dying your hair, and saying you love liverpool does not make you a good player - it only makes you a hero in the eyes of blinkered fans who don't know their football.

Do I hope DC scores 20+ goals this season ???? You bet I do

Will I support him 100% when I'm at the games???? You bet I will.

Will he score more than 15 goals on top of the mickey mouse ones he has already ???????? Not a chance, he has the composure and finishing ability of a Mule.

and the opinion of every single LFC fan ive spoken to today about the Owen situation is quite remarkable........I dont know where you guys are from but here in Liverpool the mood is one of great dissapointment....not the pragmatic 'more fool them' comments that im seeing plastered all over this forum - imo it is not representative of how most fans are feeling so dont kid yerselves into thinkin that preaching to the converted (each other) on here is a true measure of the current atmosphere around anfield.......wait until Cisse fluffs another half dozen chances in front of the kop against Manu if you're in any doubt of that

Why does not getting Owen lead to a dig on Cisse?

Ah here was me thinking the thread was about Owen, when really its about OOTers.

Glad we found the real cause of why I'm gutted today. Its because people like me don't care enough about Liverpool Football Club.

I'll sleep better tonight with that new found enlightenment.

Where I was working in Liverpool today the attitude was one of "Well f*** him then." So it just goes to show really.

972824[/snapback]

Now I'm home and back on - I'd agree with that. 'Silly f*cker - what the f*ck is he going there for?' 'He must just want the money' 'All the c*** ever cared about was England anyway' and so forth were the most common views I hears - yes, disapointment, but mostly shock at what most seemed to feel was his two-facedness and lack of desire to really say 'it's Liverpool or nothing'. The getting games in for England selection bit has really pissed a lot of people off.

Read what i wrote, not want you wanted to read.

"Cisse is twice the fella"

A typical "squint" i see, always presenting the best statistics to aid there case. The wee welsh boy had one great attribute, speed and he lost it. He has never had anything that closely resembles a first touch.

Point of note. How does leading the club on for a couple of years, underperforming, etc.... make you a hero, to only but the gullable.

If you want to talk heroes. Speak about Rafa. Ballsy enough to see through the little runts games and dispose of him. Then going on to take the club to a glorious 5th European Cup. Then ballsy enough agian not to be held to ransoom over resigning him for an overinflated fee.

Why don't you guys just go support Chelsea or Newcastle? It seems like you support Michael more than our own players. It's disgusting to see how you talk about a player who's a French international player, a player who quite clearly loves to play for our club, a player who has come back stronger from being within minutes of losing his leg and who actually says he want's to play for us.

Is this the second time Owen has said one thing and then done another when it comes to us? He f*cked this up by saying he would play for Newcastle if we weren't able to buy him. That made Newcastle offer silly money for him which made it impossible for us to get to an agreement with Real. He also didn't leave Real to come home. That wasn't why he wanted to leave. He left because he was worried about his place in the England squad for the WC. He has not in anyway shown that he wanted to play for us and only us. He made the choice last year to leave us in a way that was nothing but insulting. And now he expected us to cough up silly money for him to save him from his self-inflicted misery.

That so called "supporters" of our great club use this mess, created solely by Owen, to have a dig at a player who loves to play for this club and who's so far scored 11 in 34 in a new country and during a time when he could have lost his leg due to a horrible injury is sickening. That so called "supporters" of our great club trash talk a player who even married in our colours and who has scored 5 in 20 for France (many of whom in games in which he was a substitute) is sickening and shows that you know f*ck all about football.

Try supporting the club instead of a player who wanted something "better" than us. Try supporting our players instead of kicking them down.

Try to support the Champions of Europe or go support the Russian mafia or the next Leeds (or whatever club your beloved Owen plays for next year).

Try to support Liverpool FC, the most successful team in England.

Try to support the club instead of a player who left us when we needed him the most.

Try supporting Liverpool FC.

hardly worth the effort typing aresponse but here goes...you've obviously a severely blinkered view of things - All that matters is footballing ability - I couldn't give a monkeys on how you decide to interpret rumours and various things you read in the papers or on forums.

In pure footballing terms, Cisse hasn't yet even shown the potential to match OWEN/FOWLER/ALDRIDGE/RUSH etc etc. That's why he ended up looking like he was playing for his career on Friday night, and why he couldn't even look rafa in the eye whilst he was issuing instructions.

Sorry to make this sound like an anti-Cisse post because it isn't. It's simply an anti-Cisse is better than Owen post, as that's just utter utter GARBAGE.

Posted

Many people I've spoken to are still irritated by the way he strung us along last year and then left at the last minute for a knock down fee. Now that there's a world cup looming he wants to come back, probably with some guarantee of being first choice striker and for twice the fee we let him go for. It's hardly increased his popularity and I'm surprised you think so many locals are gutted - disappointed yes, but hardly despondent. The fact that there was a queue of only one club at the end also suggests Parry et al weren't alone in thinking he was over-priced.

Furthermore, if that hamstring goes again and the Owen gamble fails to pay off, Newcastle may well follow Leeds United down the financial toilet. And young Michael will have got what he deserved for putting Ing-er-lund before everything else

Grow up and read the posts properly. They were in direct response to some fool implying Cisse was infinitely better than Owen. He isn't, far from it. I will not join the blinkered bandwaggoners who claim Cisse is the next coming, just because of what he's been through.

I will judge him on his performances alone, and so far he aint doing it. Maybe that's why he was so concerned that RAFA wanted shut of him - although that FACT seems to be being overlooked by the Owen haters/Cisse is god brigade.

I WANT HIM TO DO WELL FOR LFC - AND WILL SUPPORT HIM WHEN I'M AT THE GROUND WATCHING HIM - BUT RIGHT NOW, I JUST DO NOT RATE HIS ABILITY, AND DO NOT THINK WE WILL SUCCEED IF RELYING ON HIM FOR GOALS.
