Figaro Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 He's agreed to join Barca in June when his contract expires... Inside the Bernabeau they are not taking the news seriously... more concerned with getting Robinho...
Guest Cardie Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Inter and Utd will be pleased. Assuming they both still want him.
Figaro Posted January 3, 2005 Author Posted January 3, 2005 You read this on Tribal Football, didn't you? You KNOW I did....
Ste M Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Barca are building quite a squad now. They really will be a force to be reckoned with for a few seasons to come now.
Guest Evil_Ways Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Barca are building quite a squad now. They really will be a force to be reckoned with for a few seasons to come now. Unless of course Chelsea and the russian come knocking with some ridiculous offer for the easter bunny.
Ste M Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 (edited) Unless of course Chelsea and the russian come knocking with some ridiculous offer for the easter bunny. I don't think he'd go. He refuted those comments accredited to him the other week as well. Would you leave Barca for Chelsea if you were Ronaldinho? I wouldn't. Edited January 3, 2005 by Ste M
Ginu Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 (edited) tribalfootball says its us!? NOT barca! http://www.tribalfootball.com/january/englshnews3230105.html Edited January 23, 2005 by Ginu
_00_deathscar Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 But then that's tribalfootball... Be glad if they were right for once!
CaptainXabi Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 Are we sure he's not just another La Liga pansy?
beejay Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 It's on the back page of the star. Surely figaro couldn't be wrong?
Cisse Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 Are we sure he's not just another La Liga pansy? Personally I'm not at all impressed with what I've seen of him, looks overweight...But if free transfers is what we can afford well..
Guest wezza Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Santi Solari of Real Madrid is out of contract in the summer and Real are interested in offloading him in January's window for around ?1m.Ive seen him a couple of times and he seems very good with the ball and can also find the net.Would he be the answer to our problem right side?
Guest Si Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Another average player, hardly figures for Madrid. He wouldnt fill me with glee tbh.
Gunga Din Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 if we get 20 million in the summer we should be looking at buying in 2 quality and proven players, a la Alonso and Morientes, and maybe a few players to bulk the squad up. if we can get maybe SWP, and a quality centre half in the summer, then i would be happy. bring ALT back from loan, Diarra, and i think that would do us. the problems over the last few years is we have bought "Potential". thats all well and good when you have a squad capable of mounting a challange, but its not fantastic when you are scrambling for 4th. my own opinion is that without investment rafa may get say £20m. it is possible Baros will be sold for say £10 -£15m, leaving us with a budget of £35 million, enough for a new winger, a new centre half, a new central midfielder, and a replacement striker that will compliment Cisse, Morientes and FSP
Maldini Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Solari...average??? I take it you've not seen much of him, he's quality!!! He doesn't figure much for Real because Zidane plays in his position. Figaro says Barca have him wrapped up though
Guest XabiNStevie Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Another average player, hardly figures for Madrid. He wouldnt fill me with glee tbh. Morientes must be average to then.
johngibo YPC Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Our problem hasn't been buying potential its buying average players. I'd take solari and routledge on bosmans or for a small sum now and wait till summer for the big moves, money permitting. thats if they'd come obviously
Archangel Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Another Spanish/Latin based player. Its a very brave decision by Rafa to recruit so heavily from this league. You've got to admire his belief that these players will be able to change the culture of football and then the axis of power in the Premiership. I'm unsuprised that Nunez and Garcia in particular have found it difficult so far and the hope is things will change, but it is a risk as we saw with players like Diomede and Cheyrou. Ideally I'll be happier if we were to spread the net wider, surely an experienced Manager like Benitez is aware of what the rest of Europe offers which makes me think that buying from La Liga is part of a deliberate policy. Still you got to hand it to the Boss, we needed a radical change because Gerard's solutions were not changing anything and this has the potential to be about as radical as it could get
Guest wezza Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Ill admit Id be happier to see SWP and King being brought in, but we will need investment to get those type of players.Solari would be a cheap alternative and a quality one at that. OK he isnt a regular and isnt setting la liga alight, but I think he would be 10 times better than nunez.
Mad_Fer_It Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 He's got great dribbling skills, far superior than those of macca, great mazy runs, great freekicks, good passing, great player overall, and for free at the end of the summer... Hell, id put a cheeky 2m bid now and see what happens...
adayinthelife Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Balague reckons madrid are going to offer him a new contract.
Romario Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 I think he's a class player. Really tidy on the ball. I don't think you can slagg a player off too much when it's Zidane keeping you on the bench..
