charlie clown Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Can't help feeling that Arne is going to want to shed a few of the current squad members in order to build a group of players that he thinks is more suited to the way he wants to play. To me those under threat are... Robbo, Tsimi, Quansah, Elliot, Nunez, Endo... maybe Chiesa and Jota. Question marks about all of them, although I guess the recent contract extension for Quansah maybe means that he thinks he is here for the long term. And of course there's TAA to ponder as well. I wouldn't be surprised if we lost up to half a dozen plus a few of the kids.
jimbolala Posted February 9 Posted February 9 CC I think youre spot on . One GK is definitely going, one CB will go,one LB will go and at least one forward. Based on that I'm not convinced Elliot, Chiesa, Quanshah, Tsmi will be here next year. I also think one of Nunez, Diaz and Jota will go as well, depending on what offers we get. Chelsea may may well bank roll it with big offers for Diaz and Kelleher! But , no matter who, it's going to be a very busy summer.
charlie clown Posted February 9 Author Posted February 9 Yeah, I didn’t include Kelleher because I think Slot would be very happy to keep him but I’m also pretty sure both the player himself and the offers we’ll get for him will mean he’ll be on his way.
Cam Posted February 9 Posted February 9 I wouldn't be surprised if he wants a big summer. But he's not yet used to FSG's tightness and Hughes' uselessness. I suspect by the end of the summer transfer window his hair will be quite grey.
Frosty Jack Posted February 9 Posted February 9 (edited) He can quit bleatin’ and get on with coachin’ the players he has. Edited February 9 by Frosty Jack

Begbie Posted February 10 Posted February 10 I don't think there'll be as much movement as some are thinking, although much is going to depend on the contracts situations. I reckon we'll get 2 new full backs, 1 forward and hopefully a midfielder. On the basis that Trent goes and the others sign. There's probably some home grown player nonsense to think about as well
RedHarvest Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Based on nothing but gut feeling I think Salah and Trent will go Virg and Ibou will sign, Diaz will stay...we sell Nunez and Elliot We buy LB and an attacker for big money.. and a cheaper prospect for midfield
Stanley Leisure Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Virg and Salah stay, I reckon. Trent goes, along with Kelleher, Tsimikas, Gomez, Nunez and one of Jota or Diaz. So two full backs, a centre-back, centre-mid and two forwards possibly required. Eeesh. 2
Gethin Posted February 10 Posted February 10 We’ve pretty much never signed more than 4 first team players in one window before. At least not under FSG 1
FakeNewsBear Posted February 10 Posted February 10 I think CC is spot on. It's not his team yet and I doubt (as the days go on) Salah and Trent are in his plans. Salah, Trent, Jota, Diaz, Nunez, Kelleher, Alisson, Quansah, Chiesa and (your gonna hate me but) MacAllister all going in the next 18 months would not surprise me at all.
WillG Posted February 10 Posted February 10 There's a lot of player movement mooted in this thread - have we forgotten FSG?

Half the starting eleven then? Triffic. Why Mac Alliaster? Wants out?
Case Posted February 10 Posted February 10 I’d doubt if there is a huge amount of movement. Outs :- Trent, Kelleher, Salah, Tsimikas, Nunez Ins :- Bradley backup, Marma, Starting LB, #9 I’d 100% sign a CB. We should have done so last Summer, January just gone. Those wanting Diaz, Jota, Elliott gone will be disappointed.

But you’ve also got some uncertainty and development stalling of Elliott and Quansah too.

If that happens, it ain’t going to end well, somewhere. Blimey, that would be bleak.
YugoB Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Regardless of Real's wish list, we aren't selling Macca to them. If he leaves, he'd leave on a free. We arent selling all of our forwards either. Depending on who resigns, will dictate how much we will obviously have to do in the summer.

Earl Hafler Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Arne Slot's Squad Development Unless Merged Permanently
Ombudsam Posted February 10 Posted February 10 (edited) We need to swing in a fashion that means Real Madrid don’t feel comfortable coming for our players. To make the point, we would feel relatively comfortable going for Dortmund’s best lad but we wouldn’t look to take someone from Bayern Munich in their peak. Edited February 10 by Ombudsam

If any of Virgil,Mo and or Trent goes to them, they're obviously doing it on a bosman, but we haven't sold any player since Coutinho, at the top of his game, to a rival club whether domestic or in Europe.
