Endo's name already sounds like a nickname.  So does "Jota".

Someone talented and knowledgeable could probably put together a Liverpool XI of people whose names sound like nicknames.  So not me, obviously.

'Jota' is basically a nickname. It's the Portuguese pronunciation of 'J'.. His surname is actually Silva, but there are obviously loads of them in Portugal so he called himself Diogo J as his middle name is Jose.

Was blown away when I found out about that.

Even better  - "Silva" is actually Portuguese for "Spearing"

Yeah. There was a lad in my year called Matty J for the same reason. Loads of Mattys. Everyone called him Matty J, I've no idea what his full name is. Diogo Jota is Matty J.

TV & Cash, as ever obviously a factor - and Everton being the 1st team knocked out of a competition is always funny BUT

there's Fulham v Watford and Sheff u v Cardiff on as well. On a Thursday night - 2 days before 3rd round Saturday - one of the great football days of the year

there's another 2 ties on tomorrow too - presumably one is on telly.

Play Bradley and either Kostas/Robertson [depending on who is going to play v Forest], I'd stick with Quansah and Endo as the CB pairing.

In midfield play one of the kids plus Morton [if he's fit], or Szoboszlai to get him some minutes. harvey needs to play, and if we aren't going to use Chiesa for this, then we may as well get rid of him now.

Yeah, that was a funny one, seems he was ill a few days before the game, and felt off during the match. Heaviness in his chest or something like that. All this illness carry on is no bueno.

Apparently he's said Dom is back and played an U21 game or something too. I missed it but a journo has tweeted it.

He said Dom trained with the U21's yesterday. I guess that might mean he won't make tomorrow's game either but nobody pushed him on it. Starts to look a bit dicey throwing him straight back in from the start v Forest if so. But that's quite a few assumptions so I'll stop.

Might be a good sign, doing "full" training with the U21s, as opposed to rest and recovery with the rest of the squad
