charlie clown Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 (edited) First really big test of the season. Chelsea were absolutely woeful in our last (league) encounter, and it was arguably our best performance of last season. They look much better organised now though and it will maybe tell us whether we are really on a role or, as Slot keeps pointing out, we've just dealt adequately with pretty ordinary sides so far. Bring it on. I fancy us for 2-0. Edited October 7, 2024 by charlie clown
Gethin Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 It’s going to set the tone for this next block of games, which in turn is going to be crucial for the rest of the season. Do this block right and we’ll be in great positions in both the League and CL so a great performance here is absolutely vital.
stressederic Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 I hope we f***ing batter* them. *Will accept a 1-0 win. 2
Flasher Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Interesting game this one. I'm expecting Chelsea to create a lot of chances. Still think we look a bit soft in midfield despite the rise of Grav. Our fullbacks are perhaps a little deeper than previous years, so we're more protected, but this will be a proper test of how defensively solid we really are. 1
Gethin Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 You'd think we'll be without Ali for most, if not all, of this block of games until the November international break too 1 1
YugoB Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 They have dangerous players in the final third, obviously Palmer, but Nkunku is a handful at times, and Madueke has been in decent form this season. They give up chances still [see the Brighton game], so I expect us to create and hopefully take said chances. Having said that, I can see us having problems with them. I'd take any win going into this upcoming period, but hopefully we play well in totality and get more momentum
mofus77 Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 They have excellent players, real potential to hurt us so it'll be a big test of our ability to control games and limit chances for the opposition.
Hassony Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 They're s***, have one of the worst keepers in the league and a donkey up front Think we'll smash them 5-0 1 1
Benzo-13 Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 f***ing hate them, they’re like a cockroach that doesn’t die. I never want anything but a win. 1
Big Red Machine Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 Fofana and Cucurella both suspended for them. Both normally start. 1
épieur Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 At home I expect a comfortable victory. 2-0. The match thread will not reflect this. 1

Billy Talbot Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 I'm hoping for a good game and a win. I'm driving 260 miles on Saturday to take part in my 13yr old niece's birthday party and probably driving my drunk other half the 130 miles home. The Sunday is mine.
Falconhoof Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 I hope Lavia and Enzo start in midfield for them. Lavia is short on playing time, coming back from injury. Enzo isn't playing well. Of course Caicedo will start. Maybe they will give that Dewsbury Hall lad a game in midfield. They don't have a lot of height in their team, or good organisation at set pieces, so be looking to get the big lads forward for the headers into the net.

YugoB Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Hopefully our players will have enough energy on the back of the internationals, especially in midfield.

Brooks may be best reembered for sending Virg off at Newcastle (correctly) and not sending Trent off in the same game. He's been okrecently. Oliver is in City's pocket, allegedly. 1

WillG Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 This is perhaps the most important game in our history. Real make or break stuff for Slot.
