i think you can certainly make a case for Arsenal winning it. They've done what teams often do these past two seasons before going on to win it.

I think they need a new striker though

Don't see the hilarity in suggesting that Arsenal will win it to be honest. The only obvious gap in their squad is a really prolific goalscorer, but they get goals from all over the place.

I think Maresca could be a bit of a disaster for Chelsea. Nothing to back that, just a hunch. And the more Chelsea continue to look like a hire-and-fire basket case, the harder it becomes for them to hire serious coaches.

Nobody serious should have been going there for years but they do and will continue to do so as long as they are given hundreds of millions of pounds worth of players every year.

The should have stuck at the end of the season - they did ok in the last 8-10 games (or that's what it felt like, may have been 6 but they seemed to have put it together)

I've added last season's final positions in brackets.

So far it looks like they're predicting the table to be almost exactly the same as last year's

I'm honestly really curious to see how Brighton get on this season. The coach did a really good job at St. Pauli and they've signed a couple of interesting players. If Mitoma stays fit and Ferguson regains his form, we could see them bounce back up the table.

Mad Fan shouts 24/25

Villa - Have us outside top 4, but Newcastle 3rd and themselves (Villa) 4th.
Brighton - Have us 4th, behind Villa.
Everton - Have us 2nd, behind City, but Arsenal outside of top 4
Fulham - Have us outside of top 4, but Villa and Utd in there

I can see why other fans don't rate our chances tbh. No new signing, lost the best manager around, our best players another year older

I don't agree with the view and think we'll be top 4 comfortably, but I get the thinking

Alright - with 4 teams to go this is f***ed.

Assume Spurs 4th (last season 5th)

Southampton 20th (promoted) and

West Ham / Wolves 9 / 13 - West Ham were 9th last season & Wolves 14th

If this came to fruition then we'd have the same top & bottom 3 as last season (basing the promoted sides from last season as the same as the one before). Only 2x have we had the 3 promoted sides go straight back down.

But all of the teams in the league except ManU would finish within 2 places of last season with 6 in exactly the same place.

If that happens(ed) then we're really f***ed as there's no flow in the table whatsoever.

If I can be arsed, I'll xls the last 20 or so seasons and see what the y-y comparisons have been like. I mean - have the top 3 remained the same 2 seasons running before?

haven't started yet but I may

So there it is - basically the same table as last season which suggests either a lack of real thought on the journos parts or the league is f***ed
