Aston Villa vs Liverpool - Premier League, 19th February @ 7:30pm

Do better than we did there last year, dont throw a 2 goal lead away and capitulate.

Start the game well, hopefully take the lead and mantain the intensinity needed to win. Watkins and their wide players can be a problem if we switch off.

Hopefully Gakpo is fit and Jones starts. They have some injuries at the back, we need to exploit that. Hopefully Diaz takes some confidence from the goal today, as he was on a barren spell prior.

Win this and we go 10 clearly which is huge

Diaz or Gakpo left, Jota or Nunez as 9 and I'd start Jones and Tsimi. Trent or Bradley based on fitness, they'll target the former if he starts

Feels a massive game

Villa have been looking tired lately though we were leggy today as well. Getting a win would be huge. Force Arsenal to carry the game in hand for a while and keep increasing the lead.

I feel like we are one results swing in our favour from the lead becoming effectively unsurmountable. That has been so close for a while but had just evaded us a few times. If we win this, 10 points feels very significant, even with a game more having been played.

Don't think they have been beat at their ground in the league for about 13 games.

Sounds like they're about due for a good old fashioned ass-whupping then.

Trent's performance was weird. Defending well but wasn't good on the ball.

Getting your digs in early? 🙂

Just seen that nobody else is playing midweek. Why is our game here?

It’s because Villa are still in the FA Cup apparently. They aren’t happy about it either.

They've got Chelsea on Saturday, that's a big one for top 4.

Their three home games in this calendar year produced a 2-1 victory over Leicester followed by two 1-1 draws against West Ham and ten man Ipswich. Villa are not a team in outstanding form, nothing like as strong as Bournemouth on their home pitch.

We play well, we win. Not a problem.
