…is getting progressively worse.

Today we are all invited to celebrate the signing of club legend Stewart Downing on this day in 2011.

My eldest hates Downing more than he hates Neville, Ronaldo and Alex Ferguson combined, it's really odd.

Dunno, have a fairly strong recollection of his absolute pointlessness.

Another in the endless list of useless players who nearly scored a worldie on their debut, purely to get our hopes up. Devious

Not actually as good as I remembered. But still

My lad hated him so much he scored from a rebound on the edge of the box and my son shouted 'Did you see that, the useless tvvat nearly missed that

How can you nearly miss a shot on goal. He's a bit mad my kid, he hated Hendo the last season.

He was one of the first players who people tried to justify with stats, he was apparently putting in more crosses than any other player. Never once found a player in the box though, he was perfectly happy running up the pitch on his own and booting it into the box with not a single red shirt there to receive it. Awful, dumb, hopeless lump of a player.

But he was a good cook if I remember correctly.

And if you scroll down on the YNWA home page, you come to the signing of Liverpool's very own Alberto Aquiliani. One of the greatest players to hardly ever wear a Liverpool shirt. 🤔🤔
