Have to start like the house is on fire. From the get go, we have to take the initiative and be quick about it, while being switched on defensively. They have players who can hurt us on the break [Eze and Olise].

If Ali has a training session in between then and now, I'd start him. Bradley and Robbo as the fullbacks is a must. In midfield, I don't think we need Endo in this game, and he's not playing well as of late. Macca as the 6 is good enough, with Jones getting more minutes, I just dont know who is the 3rd midfielder as Dom has looked well off and Harvey is better coming from the bench.

I'd start Jota and give him at least 50 minutes, with Diaz and Mo up top. A win will do, a win and a clean sheet would be utopia.

The problem with the #6 is that Mac A looks absolutely f***ed. I’d have had him nowhere near the ground last night. You’re right about Endo. He’s dropped off physically as well. Jones was terrible last night, and I love him as a player.

This is where we are. A potent mix of knackered senior regulars, undercooked returning dependencies and some underplayed lads who can’t be fully trusted at the sharp end of a season (Tsimikas, Gravenberch).

Will Hughes owned Endo at Selhurst Park, too.

Not ideal, but I think I’d go …

Keeper

Bradley Konate, Virg, Robbo

Endo

Mac A Szoboslai

Salah Nunez Diaz

and hope to God they can lead well by 60.

Quansah for Konate, Jones maybe even Baj to start at 6 away to Atalanta next week, Grav, Elliott too, coz after that we have 3 aways in a week.

None of this will happen.

Palace? They'll probably have a good chance in the first 5 minutes.

Honestly it’s not that hard to suss us out these days. Cut the supply to Macca. Sit back and let Joe have it. When you get the ball attack us down the flanks or through the middle if you’d like. If you have just a little gusto you’ll be in with a great chance. As long as we can’t convert chances we won’t beat anyone. Everything implodes. The tactics. The controlling of games. It all rests on us scoring goals when we have big chances.

That's pretty much what I'd do but wouldn't start Dom, he's not offering much going forwards and is part of the problem our midfield gets played through so easily. So Elliott starts for me despite the being better from the bench thing

I want Jones back in the team ASAP, but think we need to be patient with him, Trent and Jota...get them on when the opposition tire

I'd start Jones. I get he isnt match fit but tough. He needs to start.

Kelleher

Bradley-VVD-Konate-Robertson

Jones-Endo-Mac Allister

Salah-Gakpo-Diaz

(Jota on after 60)

This game now feels really knife edgy. A proper season defining game where a big win (any win) sees us roll into Europe and who knows what can happen.

A draw or a loss is really unthinkable right now.

And it's probably our easiest remaining game on paper too...

Drop any points and that’s that I think.

Got tickets for this game but I’ve to stay in Manchester. I don’t want to be in a mood and have to go looking for their top boys to take it out on.

Need a win and then a Barca at Anfield performance to Atlanta to re-rail our season. I don't want it to end like this. On reflection last night was such a seriously weird and off performance from us. Someone mentioned they are the ManU of Italy so it'll be fine. Yeah right.

They were a really big team as well. The man marking thing seemed to catch us off guard. We had no answer for it all night.

why do you have to stay in Manchester?

don’t know why I’m asking as the reply is sure to infuriate me

at least be thorough in your reply, don’t piss me off even further 😡

I got promised tickets fairly late, then only literally got them earlier this week when it looked like I was gonna be let down. Got them via a European Cup winning Liverpool captain, would you believe.

Anyway, I couldn't find anywhere in Liverpool to stay that wasn't vastly overpriced and flights were a joke too. So I have to stay in Manchester. Fly in on Sunday morning and have to get to Liverpool immediately.

I'm going to say something now that might enrage you. I do like Manchester.

Good boozers.

I quite like Manc too, in some ways

this one time we went to a ‘prisoners’ wives’ club…. but that’s a whole other story

you do have mates there right?

I wouldn’t want you walking around on your own, and there’s lots of crazies around

I'll be with a mate, yeah. I might wear a karate gi just to let them know they'll be in a game if they try anything.

Oh, and sorry to turn this thread into a tourist-fest, but any good/plentiful parking near Anfield? My mate is contemplating driving.

I used to park in St John's Primary School Car Park - you have to book ahead these days by texting a woman named Linda, it's about half a mile from the ground and costs a tenner.

Last few I have parked here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/KMHbDEoYDg3oxMkW7

It's about a mile from the ground but is outside any of the resident parking schemes and costs f*ck all, but you need to be there at least an hour before kick off to get a spot.

if you get there early you can park in or very near the. ASDA on UTTING AVENUE

then you get a v quick getaway for the M62 via Queens Drive

15 - 20 min stride to the ground
