Help needed dealing with our GP practice

Unfortunately my run of being free from major relapses of M.E came to an end 2 weeks ago ( maybe the Arsenal result haha) and I've been off work since. The issue I have is, it is impossible  to get a sick line from my Dr. I can't go and visit them as all appointments are made via the phone. Appointments can only be made between 9-10 am. I have called 4 different days this week, only to be told the appointments are for medical emergencies only and tontry again tomorrow! What is the best way of dealing with this and what happens if I can't provide a sick line for being absent from work.
