Compare & Contrast - just the stats and just for fun

Stats of course never tell you a full picture of a player's abilities or career.

But i had a spare 10 mins so i thought i'd compare numbers of two of my true favourite players of all time - these aren't the stats of their full club careers - just the first 9 at their particular clubs.

Who's numbers do you think are better and for £5 from Earl Hafler for naming the two players?

Season  - Goals/ Assists (all competitions)

1) Player 1  - 26/9   v Player 2 -31/10

2) Player 1  - 22/11  v Player 2 -25/19

3) Player 1  - 32/9   v Player 2 -23/19

4) Player 1  - 32/28   v Player 2 -18/23

5) Player 1  -  40/15  v Player 2 -22/21

6) Player 1  -  30/15  v Player 2 -20/18

7) Player 1  - 33/10   v Player 2 -12/14

😎 Player 1  - 12/6  v Player 2 -6/24

9) Player 1  - 2/0   v Player 2 - 7/13

Player 2 did have one further season that i've ignored here.

no idea why an emoji is there instead of No.8 btw - tried to edit but it's not having it

These stats look made up, particularly the number of assists. Is it some hybrid of Henry, Fowler, Messi and Salah run through Football Manager?

Player 2 is better because of number of assists  gap is so much bigger than gap in goals between 1 and 2.

The goal-scoring pattern you provided corresponds to Lionel Messi's goal totals for consecutive seasons. These figures are from Messi's time at Barcelona. Here's the breakdown:

2010-2011 season: 26 goals

2011-2012 season: 22 goals

2012-2013 season: 32 goals

2013-2014 season: 32 goals

2014-2015 season: 40 goals

2015-2016 season: 30 goals

2016-2017 season: 33 goals

2017-2018 season: 12 goals (incomplete season due to transfer to Paris Saint-Germain in the middle of the season)

These statistics reflect Messi's remarkable consistency and goal-scoring prowess during his tenure at Barcelona.

of course, these stats dont tell you Kenny had already scored 173 times for Celtic before he even joined us (one more than he managed in his LFC career), or he did season 9 in those stats whilst managing the club to the double.

And it misses out Henry's time at Barca or his stat padding end knocking it about in the MLS

but i just thought it was interesting to see the mighty numbers of two absolute greats side by side.

if you didn't  - fair enough - you can f*** off then.

I learned that chatgpt is t***. It comes up with some nonsense, you call it out, it apologizes and then rehashes the same nonsense in different words.

So basically the same as Hassony then 😄
