…pothole damage?

Was driving down to Hastings for a stroll, went over a pothole approaching town, blew my tyre out.

Green Flag turned up within 45 mins which was good, but the garage they took me to didn’t have the tyre so we’ve had to get the train back to London and now my car is in f*cking Bexhill on Sea. 

Anyway, I’ve taken pics, flagged the pothole on the council website but, all in, will be about £300 out of pocket. Am told you can claim it from the council - anyone successfully done so?
