I remember playing football in the mid 80s and some of the older kids on the street wearing Adidas boots with Beckenbauer down the side in white or gold  ( can’t remember which) but I remember thinking they looked amazing.

There’s this really quite excellent series on Leeds: The Wilderness Years that not only captures the vibe of going the match in those times but begins with a pretty hefty kick in the shins for Herr Kaiser and not without reason tbf.

 

there’s a few dozen of these btw and they’re all good from what I’ve seen, like a rock n roll years only with Leeds being s*** and unnecessarily violent
