Chewie Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 (edited) Finally. Now we can all get a good night's sleep. Be a good red Ryan Edited September 1, 2023 by Chewie 1
Bogman Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Excited to see someone I don’t think I’ve ever seen play. 1
Florist Cinema Pond Goal Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Think this will be a great signing. Reminds me a bit of signing Coutinho who was highly rated then didn’t fit in at Inter before coming to us 2
Dominus Maximus Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Welcome to the circle of pain buddy. Hope you win the league while you are here.
DanWM Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Watched a YouTube comp of him for the first time, he's definitely got the Gini 'press resistance' thing hasn't he.

Ombudsam Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Welcome Ryan. Do goals, running, passes and tackles.
DanWM Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Thought this was interesting from Klopp's interview: "But how Thomas Tuchel said today in the press conference in Munich I think, the position he is best at, they don’t really have in their system. We have that – that’s good." I'm not sure what position that is? A double pivot with Trent? Doesn't feel very balanced. Sorry I know this is boring.

Weirdly that's a position we are already very well stocked. I don't think we'll see much of The Grav at 6, thankfully. I just hope we don't waste Mac there.

Funny one though, it's leaving a lot of dependency on Endo to be the mainstay while we alternate all the number eights we have. Still think the plan is to move Gravenberch deeper but we'll see. 1

Benzo-13 Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 The bits I saw at Ajax I was always impressed. He’d been in the big three of midfield protégés along with Tchouameni and Bellingham at one stage. Trust Jurgen to get that talent back.
Tommok Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 I really like that Jurgen's clearly wanted to sign him for a while - he must be excited to work with him. Sounds like Gravenberch wanted to come here too so that's a good start 1

Case Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 I think, hope, the plan is to work on Curtis being the six, with Grav, Mac, Elliott and Dom rotating at eight. The Baj doing a bit of both and Endo holding the fort while Curtis develops. Options.
Ombudsam Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 I think the plan must be Endo and Baj as the sixes. Baj played there loads last season
Swagger Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 Was hoping for a 6, but this lad certainly has the talent and the fact the Jurgen and co. have been after him for so long tells us that they believe that he can be a star for us.

Feel Jurgen has been after a more fluid, and unpredictable, midfield this summer 3

Think he’s gonna need to develop physically if he’s going to play 6 regularly. He’s got the skills to do it already

Look at the great sixes in recent history and tell me he's got anything in common with them... He's a creator and not the standard we need. Being a local lad, he's the perfect squad player, the same way Butt was for Utd.

McBain Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 (edited) I like that each time i hear his name someone has removed a different part of it Currently i'm saying it in my head as hrahenher Edited September 2, 2023 by McBain 4

I'd defo like to see him play DM this season, with some energy around him.
