Just a quick question, maybe someone on here is in HR, if you read the cycling thread you will know what happened but if not, i had a serious cycling injury back in March, where i came round a corner and hit a metal harris barrier that had been blown in the wind to a 45 degree angle, i hit it with my neck.  Smashed my adams apple to bits, severed a nerve to my brain, right vocal chord is paralysed and i fractured the right side of my ribs, now instead of calling an ambulance i cycled another 10 miles till i couldn't breath and had to get a fellow work colleague who was with me to call an ambulance, the air ambulance came out and i was admitted in an induced coma to hospital.  While there my boss requested proof i was in hospital., even though it was witnessed by a fellow work colleague, this has lead me to find another job and ask to be let go after one months notice (on two months notice), this has been denyed ,soi am not going to stick to it, as the new job starts early August, understand work can take me to court, but i am curious over the proof i had to prove i was in hospital, my consultant ( who was from Liverpool as i was in a London hospital) had never had a request before, is this normal ?
