Think I might have seen this kind of stuff discussed on here before so just wanted to see if there is any previous experience or advice on similar.

My partner is in recruitment with a big corporate company, but due to a sustained drop off in work from their government client they announced her team would be cut from 6 to 3.

The manager said all previous performance would be disregarded and they would interview for the job as if they were new (is this fair or even sensible for a start?).

My partner had been there for 5 years and another female colleague for 10 years. They were both the highest performers by a distance. The team was broken down into different IT skill sets and only one area remained busy which was her colleagues area.

My partner has a 20 minute interview after 5 years with the company, was told her answers were really good but it seemed very short to me.

Then they decided to keep both lower performing males ‘based on their interview’ one of whom has on numerous occasions spoken and been inappropriate towards female members of the team.

I honestly think this is outrageous, but what options does she have to challenge this?  Her female colleagues feel berth much the same.
