Cobs Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 This is probably gonna run for a few years yet so thought it should have a thread all of its own
Stanley Leisure Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 Classic bit of lawyery misdirection. Can't wait to see what further japes they get up to.
Cobs Posted May 18, 2023 Author Posted May 18, 2023 They've demanded Ricky Hatton be appointed to the Independent Panel 3
Cobs Posted May 18, 2023 Author Posted May 18, 2023 Interesting they're objecting to an Arsenal KC being on the panel whilst appointing Lord Pannick, an Arsenal fan, to be their Defence Counsel
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 like the law gives a f*** about who you support
Cheesecake Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 Had to look it up but Lord Pannick is an actual real person.
Benzo-13 Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 They’re just muddying the waters. Their usual tactic.

Buttles Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 Kicking it down the road and out of sight. They're going for the approach that help them beat the UEFA charges. No robust contesting of their innocence, just manoeuvring to find technicalities on which to get off. They deserve to have a big fat asterisk next to their name.

Begbie Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 They're appealing against all the 100 odd charges? So all of them wrong? Cheats

I'm sure City aren't the only dodgy ones, it's just degrees of dodgy, so in that way, the analogy does stand up. More so, it's the point that nobody in the media is really talking about all these charges hanging over City, and the fact that without their years of cheating they wouldn't be where they are today that I am agreeing with

It’s about someone being feted who is cheating - how similar do you want it to be? 35 minutes ago, Hassony said: I'm not an expert, but it seems a bit desperate no? as has been said elsewhere- it’s very Donald Trump. Attack the process not the substance of the charges. 1

It's what they did with the UEFA charges, it's frustrating that not many in the media have called them on that, basically got off on a technicality

Attack the process not the substance of the charges. Cycling always was and probably still is completely doped, Armstrong was just the biggest name to get done at that point. If football has an equivalent fallout to that EPO era then I might I agree that it's an equal analogy with man city.

Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 thing with Armstong is they were all at it, he was just leveling the playing field somewhat.
