One for @Benzo-13 or @PaulMcC186 maybe

What's the best way to get tickets for a dortmund game?  I'm looking at the possibility of getting two tickets for the game against Freiburg on the 4th of Feb

And is driving from London doable?

We drove from Warrington in 2001 so you should be ok from London.

Should be okay driving. It can be awkward squiring tickets for BVB09. Last time I was there I used Viagogo and went over the odds.

Thanks, viagogo seems to be the best option

There are flights from Heathrow to Dusseldorf which will work for me, won't be too difficult to get from there to the stadium right?

I've only been to Dortmund to watch Liverpool. I stayed in Dusseldorf. Easy train to Dortmund and it's free if you have a match ticket. All travel within a certain distance of the ground is free on match day for people going.

Have a look at something called Euro Ticket Club on line. Mate has used for games in France and Spain and all was ok, ticket and travel wise. Disclaimer: I've not used them myself.

As Paul says, you’ll be fine. Train from Dusseldorf to Dortmund probably about an hour.

Dortmund Central Bahnhof is quite a good starting location. Get to a U-Bahn for Signal-Iduna Park and the ticket is your pass too.
You should see the stadium when you disembark or follow the crowd. It’s an impressive ground.

Also they have this Itchy and Scratchy type money in the stadium where you load up a BVB card to buy beverages and food. It works well. The local beer Brinkhoffs is quite nice. The BVB Super Store is good too.

Dortmund itself is a bit bland.

Should be free travel with a match ticket too.

Yes it will be a piece of p*ss on the train, Dusseldorf is sound.

I'd recommend booking a hotel and not 'staying up all night celebrating winning the UEFA cup'

You may find the bars all shut and you end up crashing on the station floor?..

You can get them sent to the hotel if necessary. Bit nerve wracking buying off them I thought too.

You both should have a great time. They run a nice stadium. Their fans are mostly very friendly. I was talking to an old couple from Rostock and a lad from London around the place. Very random.

My recall of Dortmund amongst all the great things happened that evening in 2001, a young kid got punched by a Spaniard, he was about 14 the other fella a fully grown man, all this on the concourse before the match.

A few Reds took great umbrage, one lad went f*cking crazy, started throwing punches and shouting at the fella when out of nowhere he was encircled by about four young Germans, a couple of girls in there as well. They all pulled out these short stick thingys, and blew on whistles whilst they encircled the Scouser and pointed at him out to the Police.

I'd never seen spotters in a crowd before, the lad got taken off to the nick, I've no doubt the Spaniard got a smack when they left, I hope so.
