Cobs Posted November 23, 2022 Posted November 23, 2022 that's sad - before Rushie came along he was brilliant alongside Kenny - probably under-rated later because of Rush's incredible stats but he must have won everything bar the FA Cup with us. Played for the blueschite too - without being hated
pipnasty Posted November 23, 2022 Posted November 23, 2022 He lived near me for a while although I never saw him. The rumour was that if you went to his house and cut his grass, he would get you tickets for the next home game. I don’t think this was actually true though RIP
PaulMcC186 Posted November 23, 2022 Posted November 23, 2022 Looked good on old the old highlights I've seen.
charlie clown Posted November 23, 2022 Posted November 23, 2022 Took me a long time to warm to him when he first arrived because he'd played for Ipswich who were our main rivals for a while. But he was great. RIP.

Nebraska Red Posted November 23, 2022 Posted November 23, 2022 Really sad news. RIP He was a great player, not always a regular starter, but he gave 100% every time he pulled on the shirt.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted November 23, 2022 Posted November 23, 2022 argh f***ing hell mad Panini footy album flashbacks looking at this image

Conrad Posted November 23, 2022 Posted November 23, 2022 Good player, quick. Had a spell back in favour with England remember him scoring against Argentina RIP
Bootle Buck Posted November 24, 2022 Posted November 24, 2022 RIP Davie Johno. Loved watching him play, He always gave 110%.
Cunny Posted November 24, 2022 Posted November 24, 2022 He'd had open heart surgery and was diagnosed with throat cancer a few years back. 71 is no age. I managed to blag a couple of corporate tickets in the old Main Stand for the Blackburn FA Cup game in 2015. Johnson was doing his after dinner routine in the lounge. Seemed like a really nice fella.
Jarg Armani Posted November 24, 2022 Posted November 24, 2022 Same age as me dad. Not very old is it. Poor fella, one of the iconic LFC muzzies. RIP.
saltysam Posted November 24, 2022 Posted November 24, 2022 Saw him score for Ipswich,I was in the Anny Road.think we won the game 2-1.RIP
Ed the Wool Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 The 80-81 season was when I really got obsessed with the reds. He played in one of the charity matches at Anfield about 10 or 15 years ago I think and I was there. Great player, great muzzy.
Flasher Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 Meet him and Alan Kennedy a couple of times doing stadium tours etc. Really good guy. RIP DJ
kop205 Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 We've got a photo of him with my uncle in their primary school football team in like 1960 or something. My uncle died young in 1989 and this reminds me I miss him as well as being sad about the Doc.
Bootser Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 Just heard about this today. Sad news. Met him at a legends do and chatted for a while. Seemed a very decent bloke indeed.
