.. today is my Anniversary of joining YNWA.

20 bloody years!! FFS where has the time gone??

Most people wont even notice what date they joined but 25th of October is a significant date for me, was the date my auld fella was killed in 1984, I used to get a visit from the black dog around this time of year, 25/10/2002 was a Friday and I would have been tucked away in my PC Cupboard drinking myself into a stupor when I found YNWA , ignoring wife and family and basically shutting myself away, a poor lost soul ploughing the t'internet for s*** and giggles to dull some of the pain. That particular black dog has been dead for a few years now thankfully. There must have been something that kept me engaged and to keep coming back and keep taking stick as the forum token "Jock" for all these years.

In my 20 years on here with you mad lot there has been many hatches, a few matches (some mismatches ) and a couple of dispatches :rip: . Through it all a constant has to be the generosity of spirit, empathy and understanding from "faceless" forum members all over the world when someone decides to put good/bad news on here.

I have had the pleasure of putting real faces to some of the "faceless" forum members over the years, you know who you are and I think you are still due me a pint . I can honestly say I have never met anyone from here that I wouldn't want to meet again, even Dave who in early 2000's was one of the scariest muddyfunsters I had the pleasure to meet back in the day!!! He is just a big pussycat tho !!!!

I mention Dave as a way of saying thank you to him and the other guys who give up their spare time to keep this place going, you will never know the difference you have made to so many peoples lives by giving this group of mad b*****ds this vehicle to put inane ramblings, moments of joy, sadness, cries for help, fits of pique and sometimes big girly flounces on t'internet, for it all I say once again Thank You.

Lang may all your lum's reek.

Oh and before I forget to all the people on here in the last 20 years, a band of rag tag waifs and strays from all corners of the world brought together by fate, fortune or fecking about, Love for LFC or not, for as long as you are on here and I say this from the bottom of my heart and without fear of retribution.... You'll never walk alone.
