Went to see 10CC here in Belfast the other night. They were top drawer. Great musicians all and none of the faff that passes for repartee at some concerts. I was up on my feet giving it my all...... totally sober. Unheard of. Got me thinking about some of the other gigs I’ve been at over the past year or so, ELO, Queen and The Eagles and such. They were all brilliant concerts with a great mix of audience ages. Some as young as me and some as old as Murph.

Im not anti contemporaneous music, I thought The Killers were fantastic, but the connection with the ‘older’ bands feels much more genuine. I would have loved to have seen Slade back in the day or the wonderful Mott The Hoople.
