Time to look forward, last one done.

2nd ln 92 points, CL final runners up, fa cup and league cup winners.

we will start again on 31st July with community shield against city which is crazy early.

they’ll be a World Cup in the middle and I’m pretty sure a nutty post covid transfer window.

We could all do with a break, but it’s gerrard’s (and my) birthday so looking forward with optimism is the flavour of the day.

no - didn't know that either

tbh not given 5 seconds thought to the Charity Shield until you'd posted this.

Seems there's a clash of fixtures with  Wembley hosting the women's Euros final.

Why Leicester though ? - Surely OT would suffice? I'd let them have it at the Etihad if they gave the tickets 50/50 to the clubs

got to be better & bigger grounds than that? I mean if you're going to Leicester, just do it at Spurs or Arsenal?

32,000 capacity? FFS

I assume there are no trains to Leicester that weekend, hence why it was chosen.

Also by using a smaller stadium, charities/communities miss out on gate money?

Probably makes little difference in the end. For every quid that goes to charity, 90% probably ends up in the pockets of middle aged white men who run the charities.

Womens euro final is July 31

ok

secondary question, why have it in a stadium that only has a 32,000 capacity?

f*** knows. Wembley has coped with events and matches on consecutive days previously.

even if you don't have it at Wembley, there are other stadiums with bigger capacities than the King Power.

Pre-season friendlies might be an issue though.

Should've had it at Old Trafford. But they probably don't want their toilets wrecked a week before the season. I wouldn't even mind Etihad if we got half the stadium.

true - but there must be half a dozen better venues.

Newcastle would be sufficiently a pain in the f***ing a*** for everyone to get to, so surely they'd consider that

Or Dublin

Was planning to go to this. Doubt I'll get a ticket now.

After hospitality, I doubt anybody will be getting a ticket.

NOOOO

If they get wind of this....

Seriously though - can't really believe how they haven't gone that route a la Spanish Supercup.

Re-brand the C.S - League winners, FAC winners, and then whatever - LC winners maybe.

4 teams - probably do Spain 82 - 6 teams, 2 groups of 3, top in each group.

They won't rest till there's footy every day

Mike Riley might be out of his job. Howard Webb the favorite to take Rileys job if he gets the boot.

Riley sucks but HW... that would be absolutely terrible.
