A patched up Fabinho and no Thiago is a massive kick in the balls. Hope Virge starts we looked weirdly ropey today all over the park.

I think it was the emotions

Virgil will be fine to start the final, happy with either Konate or Matip but I'd go for the later personally

I have this game pegged as a 1st 20 and last 20 kinda game.

I am backing us for the fast opening 20mins (despite us being on the receiving end in some recent games). Though I feel when Madrid have the hang of the game, they'll be alot more threatening - based mostly, I have to say, on the timing of their goals against PSG, City and Chelsea - albeit alot of them had the home/Bernabeau factor. That still, you'd imagine their "rest" and the intensity of our recent games & emotions could see some players "impact" start to fall e.g. Diaz.

I want Diaz/Mane/Salah on the pitch for the first half when our energy and intensity will be at its highest. However, there is no pace-impact off the bench if all 3 start.

I just hope we get to put out the best XI that Klopp wants and not be impacted by injuries. If we do, I am going with Liverpool to be winning 1-0 or 2-0 at half time and then managing the game from there without giving Madrid anything to fuel a comeback as my main concern is that the attacking potency and legs start to wear as the game goes on and Madrid start to squeeze us.

However, I also think that if we do manage to get to 2-0, then our "game management" ala Spurs 2019 Final starts to kick in and we don't give Vinicius Jnr that space down the right. I am not saying we don't play a high line, I am probably thinking that Trent becomes a bit more conservative. A mad suggestion might even then ask Gomez to come on and play right back and give Trent a bit more freedom a little higher. Its an extremely small sample size of 4 minutes but Klopp put on Gomez at RB in the 90th min with TAA ahead of him in a 4-4-1-1 with Milner LM and Salah/Origi upfront. However, the 4-4-1-1 was in place from the 76th minute of that game - so the shape change occurred but TAA stayed RB for the majority.

Van Dijk definitely starts. Diaz Mane Salah will win it for us.

Can't wait

The rest look like it did Salah some good, and VVD will boss it

Our front 3 will hopefully win this for us. My only concern is they target trent's side as often there is a huge space when he attacks and the attack breaks down.

Wolves targeted the same today.

Everyone targets it. If we have Henderson there he generally provides better cover than Keita did today.

Vinicius will need to be watched carefully. He had a field day against both City and Chelsea right backs.

That Thiago injury has knocked the confidence a fair bit. At least we had a proper baller to go alongside theirs but what now. With Fabinho probably being unfit I genuinely fear getting properly outclassed in there. Don’t trust Keita at all.

Yeah. Id be happier if there was an option of not starting Keita. The only option is Milner really of Thiago is out. Hendo on the right of the 3 will be needed against these.
