Back in the recent day if a staff member, with relevant amount of service, went on sick leave they would receive 6 months full pay then 6 months half pay then go onto pension rate of pay. I am comparing this to NI Civil Service Scheme, where this would be common place in Public Sector. Can anyone advise why a staff member would not automatically transfer to pension rate of pay after first two payment scenarios? Many thanks. Don't understand this one at all??? Employee was employed by NI Housing Executive for quite a number of years.
