Time to follow up an amazing April by finishing the job in May

Give Robbo a rest

Go strong, score 1 or 2 then make some subs. We can make 5 subs after all, but can’t be too cocky selection wise. Have to start on front foot, and Robbo is one of our form players at the moment.

I'm going with

Ali

Trent Konate VVD Tsimi

Fab Hendo Thiago

Mo Jota Mane

That should be plenty strong enough to get the job done. Robbo, Keita and Diaz in reserve if things need changing up

First goal is everything here. We get it and they’re dead. But based on their first leg offering we’re too strong for them all over the pitch

Is that CF lad they had missing last week back or still out?

Alonso is meant to be fit but he didn't play in their 2-1 loss to Alaves on Saturday. Alaves are bottom of La Liga but looks like Villareal rested the entire team that started against us

Remember when Barca did that as well before the 2nd leg? Worked out well…

Bobby is back running again but not training properly - will travel but not play. Origi and Jones available again after a stomach bug

Are you confusing the names of our former players here? The cf is called Moreno isn't he? Though I can appreciate he'd rather share a surname with Xabi as opposed to Lbie;)

Yep - the opening 20mins should see them full of energy. They showed moments of trying to play out from the back but were risk-off mostly and took the safer option. I don't expect that tomorrow and that they'll have to trust in each other when playing those quicker/riskier passes out from the back. If they can get that right, it'll be a big improvement from last week.

I expect a high intensity start from both teams - and as you say - it should be our intention to also start fast and get the first goal(s). With 5 subs, if we can neutralise any sense of hope from them early on, then we can take half of our outfield team off.

But firstly, match their intensity (or see if they can match ours) and our quality will see it out.

I can see this being a similar situation to away at Porto in 2018-19. They'll try and throw themselves at us in the first 20 minutes. If we ride that out and then score they'll deflate.

That's a great example

Aye. I’ve tried to erase Moreno from my memory which probably explains the c**k up

Gerard Moreno fit for tomorrow.

How fit though? Probably (hopefully) taking a risk with him

Be at least one random rotation I reckon. Jones to start would be my guess.
