Have you ever been more confident going into one of these. The things we’re about to do to them are going to be unrepeatable.

I won’t be completely confident while we are playing 3 games a week. Plus this is their cup final.

Im not saying I’m scared, but to win every game, to keep going,  is a freaking insane Herculean task

Feels more Sisyphean than Herculean

Also two games a week unless we're double counting here ;)

Their team is rubbish, but it's like Everton. The rubbishness of the team doesn't really matter when it's their most important game of the season. But they are rubbish.

What’s a Hercule or a Sisy between friends.

It just feels like three a week, I was tempted to put 4.

Im reminded of Stan Laurel saying he hadn’t eaten for three days - ‘yesterday, today and tomorrow’

Fancy Salah to start scoring again here

Yeah, i really do too. Probably an early penalty giving him the confidence for an absolute worldie.

I’d love us to smash them (obviously)

but

1) we’re not going 100% in any game at the moment. Either recovering or conserving and doing enough is the order of the day

2) this - stopping us winning - is their cup final this year. If roles were reversed, whilst I wouldn’t be confident, I’d expect our boys to be giving it absolutely everything in this match. That may still not be enough but it’s rare they ever come to Anfield and lay down.

In ‘99 I remember celebrating that late Ince equaliser like a wild man in the pub,  thinking we’d holed their title/treble bid - turned out that point was one they won the league by

They have Cavani out injured and Greenwood unavailable so it'll be Elanga (all running but little end product) & Sancho (not much of anything unless in acres of apace) either side of Ronaldo (who can't do two games in four days) or Rashford (can't do anything at the moment).

Matip for Konate

Hendo for Naby or Thiago

Jota for Mane or Diaz

Reckon the likes of Gomez, Tsimi, Jones & Origi (for the lolz) come into contention for Everton.

Have you seen United play. They are really, really poor. It will a comprehensive victory.

3. yesterdays results went very well for them. great chance for 4th now. we'll be knackered. think it will be tough despite us being miles better.
