The way in which match thread etiquette has been so heinously abused for our 2 games against City is so unfair on our poor players. What chance do they have now?

I'd like to see Jurgen reference it, cleverly in a bid to get the bias thought in the minds with a view to them hopefully going out of their way to prove otherwise.

Mike Riley is proper taking the píss now.

It's not funny is it? Two officials, both from Manchester environs, both who have history with Liverpool. Feels very deliberate.

Season defining this, however...

Referee: Anthony Taylor.

VAR: Paul Tierney.

Tierney on VAR is the thing there

We have a better record with Taylor than City, funnily enough

I honestly can’t tell which refs have done what. Surely they’re just all as good/as bad as each other.

Everyone that gets announced leads to a cry of “Oh no, not him”

Generally I'm with you. Tierney is the one who didn't send Kane off or give Jota a penalty at Spurs though. I know because Klopp told him at the end that he is the only ref he has a problem with. He then didn't give Everton a penalty for the City handball, although he wasn't the VAR. So not ideal he is involved, not because he is biased but because he is s***.

Fair enough. I’m actually cool with it if it is just one ref we reckon is s***. They’re humans so some of them must be.

Yep. But don't give him the biggest game of the season. And just for how it looks, probably don't appoint two refs from Manchester.

Ali

TAA VVD Matip Robbo

Fab Hendo Thiago

Mo Jota Mane

Assuming that Fab is fit enough to play. Would imagine Naby in with Hendo playing "6" if not

Yep that has to be the team. Our strongest 11 and a formidably strong bench.

This is why the secret email ring needs resurrecting. Not for ITK info but for Lucky Gethin match threads.

Carragher made a good point after the games. Does Pep pick for Sunday with next Wednesday's game in the back of his mind?

I would think that only happens on genuine 50/50 calls within his squad like maybe Dias. Is it worthwhile putting him in or is it better to hold him back.

But if the first team are fit, they play both games I think.

Hope our plan for KDB is a good one. He seems to be back to his best.

They played Gundogan in midfield tonight and rested Grealish and Foden

So they went Rodri/Gundogan deep, DeBruyne mainly central and Bernardo given more licence to roam.

Silva Rodri Gundogan

Mahrez KdB Sterling

I expected a team with Silva/Rodri/KdB in midfield and front line of Grealish/Foden/Mahrez. I don't think it makes sense to put DeBruyne as the 9 against us. He needs to be deeper picking passes with pace of Foden/Mahrez. I would prefer playing a team with Gundogan in midfield and DeBruyne further forward.
