Give the way the Diaz thread is going, starting the Arsenal match thread seems quite appropriate..... Last league game before the International Break and our game in hand on City.

Mo will be doubtful for this with the injury he came off against Brighton with. Never a great time to lose him, but if he misses this I hope it'll also make him unavailable for Egypt and get him a bit of rest after all the games he's played.

Konate is - I think - our only other injury/illness doubt having missed the last two.

Game's live on Sky.

I thought you couldn’t show stuff in a champions’ league night

Good point, neither did I - was allegedly why the Leeds game wasn't live on UK TV. However the offal & Sky TV Guide both have it listed as being on Sky Sports so 🤷🏻‍♂️

We still got fa cup game after this right? With 5 subs?

I reckon he asks for one more. Not sure what you change. Regardless of city result, this is a key one.

This is a tough game, they are in form and will give this everything they’ve got.

I wish I had a magic flute to play, whose sweet melody would bewitch Arteta’s men.

It definitely will be but equally we went there without Mane and Salah not too long ago for a game they were desperate to win and dealt with it fairly comfortably. As with pretty much all our games, if it's a tough prospect for us, it's a tougher one for them.

A nice challenging away game leading into the City game. We need to win it. But imagine if Burnley also did us a favour by beating City and going ahead of Everton.

Anyway, as for Arsenal, they are 1 pt ahead of Utd. The value of a point and staying undefeated won't be a bad outcome for them - going 2 points ahead and having 2 games in hand still. I can't see Arteta/Arsenal at home taking any backward steps, but a draw for them is fine.

Liverpool          City

Arsenal (A)     Palace (A)

Watford (H)     Burnley (A)

City (A)            Liverpool (H)

Assuming Mo is out we should go as full strength as possible for this:

Alisson
Trent
Matip
VVD
Robertson
Henderson
Fabinho
Thiago
Mane
Jota
Diaz

We can rotate a bit in the Forest cup game.

We can rotate a bit in the Forest cup game.

5 of those players need to start every big game for the rest of the season

- Matip may rotate with Konate - Matip's availability has been excellent this season, so the rotation may be helping him.

- Thiago & Henderson will rotate, similar to Matip, we need to manage the amount of back-to-back games

- Mane/Diaz may rotate on the left

- Jota/Firmino/Mane may rotate in the centre

- Salah has to play on the right

I may be watching this in with the Gooners. I guess they are probably the best of the rest as supporters and my friend is sitting next to me so I’d best keep my gob shut if it works out, not been in an away end for years

I've been offered this option too, but I think I will pass. Done similar a few times (Spurs, Southampton) and always miserable.

I’ve never had a problem there.

nor in any other away to be honest. It’s obviously difficult keeping emotions in check, but any chance to see the mighty reds has to be taken
