I have a feeling that Klopp will start a bit of a funny team here

Nah I think the last two matches and the substitutions mean it picks itself.

Assuming that Jota/Firmino aren't fit:

Alisson
Trent
Matip
Virge
Robertson
Fabinho
Henderson
Thiago
Salah
Mane
Diaz

I know you are joking but they definitely are not.

They are competing on energy & running. They'll play a back 3 and, not too dissimilar to Inter Milan, will play their goal kicks very short and spread the back line which will naturally draw all the players into their half and hit a few sharp balls into feet to try get turned and then find spaces/gaps for the pass/runners.

In the Stamford Bridge, their passing was snappy and accurate. Ours on the other hand was atrocious at the start of the game and we never got close to their passes. I put that all down to pure execution. Henderson/Milner were not keeping the ball and Kante/Kovacic were doing everything quick & simple.

Tuchel is more likely to change his style than Klopp so we need to execute very well in the way we want to play. City have dominated these this season, but in those games Lukaku played and was anonymous. I don't think he starts on Sunday. I believe our defence will be caused more problems by energy than Lukaku's bursts.

But we are not facing a team that is sitting back - they'll leave their wing backs wide and try create pockets of space and move the ball quickly into it (with I think) players with energy and running.

We play with a back 2 at times, they will play with a back 3 for sure. I am looking forward to it, its a team and occassion we should like playing and have a good squad in a good place with a sense of momentum. I think we win but I think we'll be tired after the game - it'll be intense.

Not a chance he starts having not been involved tonight.

Keheller (spelling) starting and the role Jota played getting us to the final makes me think different, but time will tell.

We very rarely put a player straight into the starting line-up when they were out injured the game before. Hope he's fit enough for the bench but will be really surprised if it's anything more than that.

Yeah, I agree with that.

There's 3 subs and there are concerns over Firmino and Jota.

You imagine that we go with Salah/Mane/Diaz with Firmino/Jota on the bench (if both are fit);

  • If we need a goal desperately, we have 2 players with 30mins in their legs
  • If we don't need a goal, we can still put 1 on and sub the 2 midfielders either side of Thiago for energy

However, if Jota starts, then I take the position that the management know exactly whats in Jota's legs and we have the same dynamics i.e. Diaz can come on with 2 midfielders and/or we can also put Firmino in if needed.

Spot on, but in a 433 instead of a 442
