Hassony Posted January 30, 2022 Posted January 30, 2022 He's going to be a massive player for us Quadruple here we come 1
Falconhoof Posted January 30, 2022 Posted January 30, 2022 I’m disappointed we didn’t sign a player called Rolf Menzies but I guess this amazing Colombian will have to do.
growler Posted January 30, 2022 Posted January 30, 2022 Same nickname as my daughter. same first name as another South American who got us off our seats. can’t wait to see what he does for us!
Stevie H Posted January 30, 2022 Posted January 30, 2022 Winning goal in the CL final nailed on. Exciting signing this. And all the better for being kind of out of the blue.
Stanley Leisure Posted January 30, 2022 Author Posted January 30, 2022 https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/jurgen-klopp-luis-diaz-hes-player-we-really-wanted?one-tid=bbbfd2fe-ca5f-52f3-42ae-1b6d82794fce “I could not be happier that we’ve been able to get this deal done and bring Luis to Liverpool,” the manager told Liverpoolfc.com. “I have always been a believer in only signing players in January if you would want to sign them in the summer, and that’s very much the case with Luis. “He is an outstanding player and someone we’ve been tracking for a very long time. “We believe he has everything needed to fit into our way and adapt to the Premier League, both physically and mentally. He is a player who is hungry for success and knows you have to fight to get what you want. He is a fighter, no doubt. He’s a skilful team player who has always the goal in mind. “This team deserved to add quality and when we played against Luis earlier this season, we saw what a danger he is, how fast he is and how his mentality was to help his team. “We know Porto is an outstanding club who nurture players in the best possible way and provide a brilliant football education. They are a class club and, I have to say, have been tough negotiators. “We also have to say thank you to the Colombia FA for being so helpful in allowing us the time to complete this deal. They have a big game on Tuesday and I know as well as anyone how important preparation is for matches, so for them to allow us a few hours to finalise the transfer without impacting their training was greatly appreciated. “I also must make clear my appreciation to our ownership and football operations team for how they have managed to act so decisively to get this done. “Luis is a player we believe will make us better now and in the future. He is the player we really wanted and they’ve made it happen, so I am very happy.” 4
Lark Posted January 30, 2022 Posted January 30, 2022 The best thing about this is we get too see a full rotation of our forward line without the massive downgrade in quality - at least for 6 months. Hopefully showing that having that amount of players is absolutely necessary and gets the best out of them all. 1

Diaz seems to play mostly off the left but looks like he is capable of playing in any of the front three?

Really exciting signing tho - his highlights reels are amazing.
Lark Posted January 30, 2022 Posted January 30, 2022 Those coming to the end of their contract may not like and may wish to go but it doesn't stop being a fact that a club of our size needs to be able to rotate our forward line properly just like its a necessity to have 4 cbs, cover at full back, decent back up keeper. 1
Chewie Posted January 30, 2022 Posted January 30, 2022 Brilliant news... That's a strong squad going into the second half of the season.. 1
Benzo-13 Posted January 30, 2022 Posted January 30, 2022 Really exciting signing. Always believe we tend to go for the no.1 target. He’s the one in this case and also fun to make Spurs look Toytown.

Tommok Posted January 30, 2022 Posted January 30, 2022 I hope it's true we bid £500k less than Spurs 1
