Liverpool FC v Shrewsbury Town - FA Cup 3rd round- Sun 9 Jan @ 1400

God knows if this'll go ahead, but hopefully we'll be able to cobble together 11 mighty warriors in red.

The Salop have come into some recent form, three clean sheets on the bounce so they'll be fancying an upset. A hardworking outfit, but the usual standard you'd expect of a team battling relegation.

Reds to win 3-0

Good point. This is why, when it comes to tactical matters, you are superior to me.

We could cough on the ball?

it will become a red card offence once the algos pick up on your idea and start their thing

the VAR panel will look at replays to see if the cough was deliberate

we’ll be ok for this match though

Any spares for this.

I was in Tenerife when I should have registered for a seat back in November.....I'd lost my phone (that's a story for another day.) So missed the email reminder. Worra wally.

I've a mate who might have 2. He got them for a mate of his but he got Covid. Want me to check he still has them?

The FA have told clubs that FA Cup games must be played if you have 14 fit players across the whole club so expect to see a lot of under 18's involved during this round.

Don't really understand why each competition has its own rules on this

Got a bit of sympathy for the FA here

There's up to 4.5 months to rearrange postponed league fixtures.

Cup competitions have very little time between the rounds to rearrange games - we (along with Arsenal and most teams outside the PL) don't have a free date between R3 and R4 where a rearranged game could go. We could play our R3 game on the R4 date but that then starts affecting other clubs that are drawn against the winner of the game and have to wait.

We were lucky with the EFL Cup as we had the spare date we could move it into. Otherwise we might have been in forfeit or play the kids territory.

Another factor is that (I believe) plod require 10 days notice to resource policing a game, which is why there's always a week and a half between the original game and the date earmarked for replays in normal years.

tell them to go out and be Divock Origi

This is what I say to the man in the mirror every morning.

Sometimes followed by shouting "YOU'RE A TIGER!!" if I need an extra boost.

That's neat. That's neat. That's neat. That's neat. I really love your Origi feat

(yes I meant to spell it that way)
