Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp on the latest with Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Curtis Jones who all missed the game against Newcastle on Thursday:

"It's not confirmed yet, it's an ongoing process, they are not here but they are fine.

"In this moment nobody else is positive but it's pretty early still and the players will come a little later so we will see."

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: "I have no idea what to expect from them [Tottenham]. After this news conference we will have an analyst meeting with old footage. We have no information. For them it is difficult as well. Who does not want to play for two weeks and then have to play again.

"More transparency would be really helpful. We know that three players are probably not going to be available.

"I heard Manchester United had a number of cases but I don't know how many. I I had no information on who had the virus at Tottenham."

Not seen any whispers about COVID availability but assuming VVD, Fab & Curtis will be unavailable for this.

Assuming no other positive tests, would you go same team as Newcastle or tweak the midfield a bit? Too early in his career to bring Morton in for a league game to allow Hendo to play further forward?

Would assume no first teamers will play in the cup games, gives everyone a weeks rest. So wouldn't surprise me if it's same team as Newcastle.

But if Fabinho positive is confirmed and no games get cancelled we've got an issue in midfield for the 3 games between boxing day and new year

I doubt Henderson can play all 3.

Gotta be doubtful that the Leicester cup game will go ahead given the cases in their squad.

VVD, Curtis & Fab should be back for the Leeds game on Boxing Day as their initial test was 15th Dec

The Hendo rumours are based on him not being on the video with Klopp and Mo for some charity do.

Surely if Mo had it, he would not have been on it either?

Unless he's tested + today

Depends on the day they tested positive. I think 27th is there first day after isolation but could be wrong.

And then its if theyre match fit afterwards.

If they are postponing games like the Villa one at such late notice this weekend needs writing off until the incompetent c**** at the PL can hammer out a proper plan.

Only one game left on today in the prem, just shut this weekend and next week down, just seems plain daft.

I imagine they're just thinking what's the point? You start again in 2 weeks and it'll just be the same now, If not worse. If they can get some games played its less games to squeeze in later on.

You get to a point though where the teams without outbreaks or small ones are gonna get screwed. If we do lose Hendo and Mo and they decided we can play on without 5 players, 4 of our starting XI, it's hardly fair if we end up dropping points.

Especially when we have 2 games in 32 hours in a week and our other players will be even more over played.

I don't know how you balance it all out. If they stop playing games they'd have to stop for a month or two.

I don’t know the answer either, just don’t want us going to Spurs with a depleted team after they’re coming out the other side, rusty but refreshed.

Something doesn’t compute.

Yeah it does seem a bit daft having any games this weekend really after so many cancellations and arguably a bit unfair on the teams that do have to play.

Going to be chaos if games in the Christmas period proper get cancelled as there are so many of them.

Have to wonder whether it's wise having fans attending games at the moment really too.

All a bit grim isn't it :(

Yep.

I’m live down near that there London, but not sure I’d want to be going to this game.

We had a few works dos there a couple of weeks back, but it’s rabid in there at the moment, especially this near to Christmas.

Major of London declares major incident in the capitol due to Omicron, yet we’re sending fans into a crowded stadium, and crowded underground.

London is the epicentre of the out break.

Forget the players, we’re exposing nearly a hundred thousand people who will watch the match to this out break.
