Friends and family etc. (Anfield this and every season)

Trying to get my head around this, does anybody have insight or remembers any discussions between the club, supporters groups etc. on what the future holds and what they rare hoping for?

You can now register up to 10 family/friends to take your ST if you can't make the game. To register you simply give name, postcode and mobile number. The really crafty/clever bit, to be nominated the person has to be a club member which means every single person on that list pays £40 a year for the privilege, nice revenue for doing nothing extra, played.....

The fact mobile numbers are required tells me that we will be using an app to get through the turnstile from this season, has anybody heard this and is it only the app on your phone or will they make arrangements for the very few ST holders who don't use a smart phone.

There were discussions with fans groups and journos I know, I recall the club's sole motive was to stop touting (good obviously) and to make sure they know who is in the ground. The truth is, if they did a spot check on everybody on match day I'd be surprised if more than 75% of ST's are in the right hands, this exercise could flush a lot of people out, it's absolutely what happens with clubs like ours but are people getting concerned they might lose their access?

There are undoubtedly ST holders who are actually dead, plenty are old and unable to get to the match, loads living abroad perhaps temporarily lots of families sharing tickets, what if the old fella in the group dies, do they take the ST away or allow a family member to take it over? What if (ahem) a father put his son's name down when he was small and in fact the lad has no interest but his brother has been using the ticket for years, the question is, are they looking for trouble or is there likely to be a one off armistice?

Maybe nobody knows anything but I can't believe this hasn't been discussed at length by the club and fan representatives, I'm completely in the dark as to what is going to happen. If I keeled over tomorrow my son would have nobody to go with if my ticket then had to be surrendered, bearing in mind we live 200 miles away.

Not looking for any sympathy here by the way, just want to know if anybody knows what the grand plan is ultimately and how generations of Liverpool supporters are likely to be treated going forward.

I think you can nominate up to 20 and it can be people who have the free membership option, not just the paid one.

Inauspicious start, I'll make any further corrections later once I've had time to read it.

They did the season ticket verification exercise over a year ago to deal with these issues.  You had to prove who you were with photo i.d. and had a one off opportunity to change the name on the ticket to the person using it.

If he puts his brother down as F&F then presumably he can carry on going with no bother.

put me in your will and I'll sort it out - if you haven't already that is

after all these unexpected little surprises can, if not make up for  a friend dying, at least provide a slightly different spin on things..............anyway food for thought

back to the matter at hand: why don't you do the name switch whilst you're still alive?

the rest doesn't sound too complicated; I have to do the same myself for my son and for whomever I normally allocate my ticket

actually I need to email you don't I?

This is disturbing because I have no idea what you are on about Redwire.

Of course, but I had you down as a new Fan card holder of of CF Bordeaux?

well I was thinking of becoming manager of my local team and if I do well I might get headhunted by Limoges

if I do well there, Bordeaux is the next logical step; but I'll be in the dugout rather than the stands

He can do yes but he would be going on his own as the ST would be returned and the other question I meant to ask. what if somebody NECVER goes to a match for whatever reason and his best mate/brother goes instead, week in week out, would that cause them to look at it?

Not sure what you mean with this.

I emailed the club and the reply I got was that F&F do not need to be members. I am concerned that the number of F&F you are allowed to nominate will get reduced over the next few years and/or the number of games you're allowed to give to F&F?

As far as the app goes, my Dad doesn't have a phone that is up to date enough and they said they will contact people like him nearer the time, maybe they get to keep a card ticket?

If I snuffed it, plus if the designated ST holder never went to a match because his brother did this could cause a problem down the road maybe?

Probably yes, those without smart phones won't be able to go on the list by the sound of it though?

How do they know who hasn't got an up to date phone to contact them?

After I helped you get a ST, you need more help keeping it?

You don’t have many friends so I am unsure of the issue….

How did you help him get a ST?

He didn't. I waited 20 years then he stepped in when I had missed the boat by a few hundred the year before and claimed a goal when I got to the top of the list. 😂

I've dropped the club an email to see whether they will take a view, after all it's only two brothers switching ownership.

I don’t remember but there was confusion - and I purposely exaggerated for reaction - and I helped sort out a problem with his ticket and his sons?

I think he could have missed his chance of claiming it?

My apologies you are quite right, I'd forgotten. They lost his application and when I finally got notification it was only for one ST even though the two applications had been linked for years, I sent in all the documentation then you got involved..

Sounds like it's going to be even more difficult to get a ticket to Anfield. Ace.

get a fan card and I'll add you to my list. My list has Kahnee on it, so you'll be in good company.

Seriously though if you want to get a fan card. I'll add you. I tend to miss a few games a season with one commitment or another.
