Liverpool vs Crystal Palace - Sunday 23 May 2021 - Anfield!

A s***e season seems to be ending on the highest of possible notes.

We've got a +4 GD over Leicester. Same goals scored and a better head to head. If we both win, Leicester need to score 5 more than us if I'm not mistaken to overtake us.

There's of course the possibility that Villa beat Chelsea and if LFC and Leicester win - then Liverpool finish 3rd.

4 more than us I believe. We win 1-0 they need to win by 5-0 to end up on same goal difference and be ahead on goals scored.

It's always f***ing Palace.

Heard Rory Smith the other day refer to the 2014 3-3 with them as "Crystanbul." Had never heard that before, didn't know it was a thing.

I find the emphasis on that game by non-Liverpool fans to be a bit bizarre.

The killer blow was Chelsea - dropping points to Palace was disappointing but that feeling wasn't even the 2nd cousin of the feeling after that Sunday game against Chelsea. I held out some hope that the City game straight after which was away to Palace might provide some redemption but after that day, the massive buzz up to that day had gone.

We had gone 10 games winning on trot, beat City to make it 11 and beat Norwich to make it 12. There was a lot of hype over those weeks and months. Letting the air out of that was a massive downer - the feeling after Palace, relatively, was a bit meh compared to that Sunday.

Yeah, Chelsea killed me. Palace was nowhere near.

Palace only happened as a consequence of the Chelsea game. And in the end the result of the Palace game didn't matter (unless we'd have won 9-0 or whatever it was we needed :D ).

It was also losing to s***e like Hull City earlier in the season. The focus is always on those last few games but we made the errors that cost us way before that.

The Palace game was heartbreaking just seeing the players at the end of the game in bits... Seeing Luis and Stevie have that realisation was horrible.

Also Victor Moses can f*** off, the c***

I wish I'd got a look at the staggered entry times for this before booking.  I'd have gone for block 202 or 208.  As it is I need to get in at about 2.30pm.

yeah, he's looking at months out the poor lad.

I'd missed that - shame for him but good for us. Looks like he's going to be excellent

Hodgson has said Benteke was 'feeling something' around his ankle or Achilles but he needs to check with the physio.

He also somehow didn't get sent off for elbowing someone in the throat.
