Molby Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 more cloggers if we don't win this, I'll scream and scream until I'm sick
D.Boon Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 Bit of fatigue kicking in perhaps. Will Klopp change it a bit or just squeeze what he can out of our best 11 for the next 2 games?
Cobs Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 Burnely players looked mentally like they were on the beach already v Leeds early goal for us and outwork them should see them similarly down bucket & spade for a comfortable win except Dyche will be riled up because of his little spat with Klopp last time out - so expect another slogfest nail-biter.

Playing in front of fans will probably motivate them a bit.

Molby Posted May 17, 2021 Author Posted May 17, 2021 let's make with the analysis Rory and can you answer this please, like an essay question if you will 'Burnley are like a better version of West Brom (throwback tactics, success = survival in PL on a budget, at all costs) how accurate is this statement?'

Will also be out for revenge for his pub darts team mate Allardyce
Swipe Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 Milner and AOC should be back, Klopp said yesterday. The former might be useful here.
Cam Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 Adrian TAA Phillips Williams Robertson Wijnaldum Fabinho Thiago Salah Alisson Mane 5

Hightown Phil Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 If MIlner is back I think you've got to wonder if Fabinho moves back in place of Williams.

I'm not sure if I'd trust them against Wood and Vydra or Zaha and Benteke.
Leroy Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 (edited) Fab & Phillips @ CB with Ginni & Thiago in midfield for me. Edited May 17, 2021 by Leroy Wrong input
Zoob Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 Kinda annoying that they were so poor against Leeds and lost 4-0. Was hoping they'd save that sort of thing for us, but they will definitely be up for it against us, and will use the same tactics as WBA - dive at any contact to win free kicks

Yeah, we can all pick their team and formation. None of that will be a surprise. Though we'll see with Nick Pope, he's a maybe. Its the fan factor, night time game and looking for redemption after Leeds that might dictate their approach. They are safe but they've take a few hidings along the way this season, City, Spurs, Chelsea have all put a few past them. United did the double too over them. They got a draw out of Leicester and their only win against a decent team - yep, Anfield. Dyche has been talking up Vydra lately and his work ethic and running the channels etc etc but they are not the team that poses the same threat when we play a high line like the likes of other teams. I am sure Williams and Phillips will be back themselves against Wood and Vydra if it comes down to defending from a high line. You'd imagine they'd try play on Williams just like WBA did and put Wood winning headers against Williams and Vydra chasing them down against Phillips. Would be quite unusual to try pin Wood up with Phillips. After that, yeah, they'll be true to their identity and what Dyche always preaches and thats that all his players work hard and carry no passengers. Just bloody match that and add on a layer of our quality and - no harm if Pope was still out. Their attack doesnt worry me too much (4th worst goals scored) and they've shown in a few games that the flood gates can open when they are off colour.
smithdown Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 Be hilarious if Allison goes up for an early one, just to rattle them like, see how they like it up ‘em. I dare us. 1 6

PaulMcC186 Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 Doesn't Klopp normally make a few changes for Burnley away? I don't think we have enough fit players to do it this time.
Leo No.8 Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 Finishing with Allardyce, Dyche then Hodgson - it’s like the Mount Rushmore of c*nts. 4 6 1

mofus77 Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 Am I right that we need to win this and then we're in the top 4 going into Sunday? No matter what Tuesday's result is.

No matter what Tuesday's result is. Yes Assuming we win, the worst outcome is us winning by 1 and Leicester losing by 1 We will both be on 66pts with our GD at 22 and them on 20. If they beat Spurs by 2 more than what we beat Palace (assuming we both win) then they get 4th as they have more goals scored. Edited May 17, 2021 by Rory Fitzgerald
