Christ lads, some stand off in getting this thread started. The next contribution I suspect will be tomorrow at 3.30pm when the team is announced.

Until then, here's a few graphics from the 0-0 game at Anfield earlier in the season.

We win (against our biggest rivals) and we give City (their biggest rivals) our title that we haven't celebrated yet.

I mean, ffs.

Alisson

TAA Fabinho Kabak Robertson

Thiago Wijnaldum [Milner/Jones/Keita/Ox]

Salah [Jota/Firmino] Mane

Looks like we are really picking 11 players from 12 or 13 options and then the subs options are a bit of energy only with Hail Mary hope for a bit of inspiration

the only bit of logic behind that is they played Thursday night and we have had 8 days between matches.

Yeah, thats something in the mix.

I think its another reason for United to pick their lines of engagement accepting that our game is not as slick as last year, that the full backs and wide attackers are not as potent so can sit off. Let AWB and Shaw defend their men and then if we are a bit open, just put their men one-on-one with balls to feet and/or put balls behind the full backs.

Tomorrow feels like we will continue our punch-drunk forward game and United see it coming and plan for it.

Of course, if we click and balls break our way then we've loads to cause them problems.

To flip it on its head, image letting United have the ball and we curl up into central areas and let them have the ball and spread balls wide against a tight defence ? Wan-Bissaka drawn on, Maguire on the halfway line (akin to us thinking about Philips on the half way line). If you were to do something like that you would think about putting in a half-fit Philips with Kabak and let Fabinho play in midfield. Milner might make more sense in that too. Then just pair up Mane, Jota, Salah against whomever they want to leave back. Of course I think thats a complete mindshift change that Klopp has been training for the last few years.

Coming back to the odds, I just can't marry it up in my head.

got to win this to have any realistic chance of top 4.

somehow the bookies have us as slight favourites 🤷‍♂️

What a season it’s been for people who bet on the worst possible results for Liverpool. Blow softeners let’s call them.

Closer than last week, but out all season.

Wouldn’t bet on him being closer either. Probably the only player who could get more injured when injured.

We have no realistic chance of 4th. It’s done.
