So something has come up in our cricket set up - an 11yr old (just turned 11 last week) is a v. good player. On the county pathway.

He’s in our U11s & u12s team. The coach of the u13s (bit of a wannabe) wants to take him from us and put him in his team - whilst giving us a kid he clearly doesn’t rate in return. Cheers!

My own feeling is that there’s maturity issues beyond his cricket that make me feel where he’s at currently is ok -  he’s already playing in his own age group and is the best player. He’s also playing up a year already and is one of the best players - should he be pushed further up through the age groups to find his limit/ sate an ambitious coach - or are we doing enough for him on that front and there’s merit leaving him where he is?
