Hendo and Fabhino has made it look easy, we've also had the likes of Gini, Can and Lucas fill in at the back to good effects

Is it an easier position to play in than midfield/attack? Or even a modern day fullback?

I guess there's a reason why the worst players in the playground or five a side pitch tend to be played at centre backs

It’s well easy. When you have the ball there is no pressure on you and tackling someone is well easier than dribbling past someone.

That’s wrong all day long

It's true though, and not to go all Leo on you, but I'm a CB myself

The worst player was almost always stuck in goal. 🙂

If you don’t think they put the worst one at right back you probably played right back.

Left footed and 6ft 4. Always center half, until age caught up and I played center forward and then goalie when the knees started to go.

No it isn’t. And it’s lazy. It’s a different skill set

Imagine if Gerrard was played at CB, he would have easily been the best ever defender in history

I mooted Gerrard at centre back and was LAUGHED out of court on here!! You lot are the Gary Neville's of Fora.

If you’re left footed and didn’t play left back, you were on to something.

CB def easiest position on the pitch.

If you couldn't kick a ball you went in goal. s***test player went left back as nobody wanted to play there, but if slow and generally useless, CB was where you played.

As a midfielder, a skinny 5ft 9 one at that, I filled in at CB on occasion and it was easy. I wouldn't be any good defending corners due to height and build, but general play was bloody easy. Everything in front of you. If you've got pace, there's nothing to it.

I'm crap at footy but have had several classy run outs at centre half in my time. You can see everything, and you tell people what to do instead of doing it yourself a lot of the time.

Having said that, the worst player on the pitch is usually the right back.

Think we are rapidly reaching the conclusion that CBs are myths.

FSG have bottled following their algorithm and will probs buy one now. f***ing fannies.

Ha ha, as a fellow skinny midfielder I sometimes used to just put myself as sweeper when I got bored in training or pre season games. I loved it, thought I was some imperious German thoroughbred or something. And it was dead easy to play.

I’ve been pondering this a lot recently. If Rodgers hadn't messed him about and convinced him to play at centre half, I wonder if he could have gone on a bit longer. He’d might have stayed with us another season.

5 minutes with Rodgers must seem an eternity, imagine the thought of another season.

Ha, I hadn’t thought of it like that. That must have been a factor as well.

In secondary school game 3rd year. So u13s I guess. I had to suffer the humiliation of being subbed as a sub. I was brought on as 2nd half and was on for 15 mins before being hooked. I have no defence to offer. I was awful. The pitch was a quagmire and the hail was rattling down. I also got a massive chafing burn off the ball from being stood in the wall at free kick.

I guess this answered the question if I could do it on a cold and wet evening in Holyhead.
