Will probably be as grim as that game when Mignolet let the ball roll over his f***ing foot at Turf Moor. Think we spawned that 0-1 with a Sterling goal. I'd take that again.

Matip plays when he's fit. Apart from cup games there's absolutely no point resting him, cos he's going to get injured again at some point.

He does but it doesn’t tend to be training sessions when gets injured. But this is probably the one team where Phillips is a tolerable idea given they’ll kick balls at Barnes’ and Wood’s heads.

Also if he gets injured 70 minutes in against Spurs for example, that might have seen us get in to a position to win the game.

I don’t think it’s something that definitely needs to be done against Burnley, but no am I playing him Sunday.

We coped without Fabinho in midfield for a large portion of last season so I’m not convinced he’s going to be the quick fix back in there people are assuming he would be.

Is Fabinho defence and Wijnaldum at 6, as an example, really inferior to Phillips in defence and Fabinho at 6? Can’t have that as being the case to be honest.

Now pick me a team for the cup

Kelleher, Williams, Williams, Phillips, Tsimikas, Wijnaldum, Milner, Chamberlain, Shaqiri, Origi, Minamino.

I am aware this will be unpopular.

I just don't see him being moved out of defence for a single game, they are so coached into positions and set ups that it very rarely happens. Which I'm grand with to be honest.

Put Phillips with MaTip, let Fab have a gander about in midfield.

Quite, he can help in defence from there. Go for the best mf/attack in every game from now on.

If Fab isn't in defence he should be sat at home playing xbox

Yep.  I'd happily play Phillips in this (we can do without Dyche setting his yard dogs on Fabinho) and Fab can be rested for Sunday.  If a midfield of Henderson, Thiago, Wijnaldum (or one or more or Oxlade/Jones/Milner) can't top the silky skills of Burnley's midfield then we're in a bigger mess than we thought.

I'm expecting Fab and Matip to start at the back, just a great opportunity for him to start in midfield.

Could be one of the few opportunities he may get to play there this season. But, I doubt that'll happen.

I get people want to see him in midfield but for what purpose? He only started 23 league games last season and we won all of the other 15 so it’s not like it’s imperative he’s there and we fall apart without him.
