Rory Fitzgerald Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 Recent Form: Won 2 of their last 8 (W2 D4 L2) but of the last 4 have drawn 3 and lost 1. Possession/Tackles: 5th highest possession in the league but highest tackles in the league, unusual for the 2 to be correlated, though Leeds are similar. Defence: Conceded 19 in 16 games with 7 clean sheets but conceded 5 to Spurs, 3 to United, 3 to Villa, 3 to Chelsea and 3 to United. Home Record: Beaten Newcastle, Everton, WBA, Sheff Utd but lost to City, United and Spurs with 1 draw in the last game against West Ham. Team: Below are their recent line ups; 0-0 vs West Ham, 0-0 vs Fulham, 0-1 vs Man City and 1-1 vs Arsenal. Likely Team: Same as the West Ham game with the only decision seemingly between Djenepo or Armstrong. Likely Approach: I think this will be a game whereby the opposition start like Brighton, Palace and Fulham did against us with loads of energy and don't concede territory for a counter-attack approach. Not a game for tired legs but that goes for both sides so I wont be surprised if both teams hit 70mins at 0-0 with loads of energy spent and maybe the script for the last 20mins will be written by the level of effort put in during the previous 70mins (and past few days). 3
Earl Hafler Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 That's how to start a match thread, Rory ! Hopefully a win as it's my birthday; the 94 classic against Utd was on the 4th, i think.

Hightown Phil Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 Going by the comments Klopp made you’d think he’s getting half an hour, but would be delighted if it’s longer. Tune him up to start against United please.
Swipe Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 The thought of not winning this one. I quite fancy Chelsea talking points of City later. Really hope the past week will be a kick up the a*** for the team.
jimbolala Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 We seem to set the tone of the game within the first 10 min, if we start slowly it never gets going, though in recent games we've seemingly run out of ideas , bar crossing it to a fictional big man in the middle
Hightown Phil Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 They’re the type of team we seem to be better against. Like Leicester and Wolves for example, on paper it feels difficult and sometimes it can be but eventually we just beat them cos we’re better than them and the they leave a little bit of space for us to exploit.

Rory Fitzgerald Posted January 3, 2021 Author Posted January 3, 2021 That is Vestergaard and the keeper missing. No harm that.

growler Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 A must win now. Need to get back to form quickly. A solid 2 or 3-0 and most importantly some drive and energy.
Barnesy_10 Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 Yeah we can't afford anything other than 3 points for this game and upcoming games due to the form of the other teams around us.
Jarg Armani Posted January 4, 2021 Posted January 4, 2021 We might not win, soton are better than a lot of other teams and we are out of form. We’ve put too much pressure on this game by being crap for the last two. Hopefully they will be rubbish on the night and we will get the rub of the green. I can’t help thinking it will be a calamity, Phillips and Williams have now both played enough times for the opposition to be able to target them effectively.

This is how I have woken up feeling too but I reckon part of it is linked to the boy not sleeping that well and having to do actual work today.
muleskinner Posted January 4, 2021 Posted January 4, 2021 Redmond out for them isn't he? Always does well against us.
