Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Champions of our group. I'd go - Keev Williams x2 Koumetio, The Greek Mini, Cain Clarkson Divock, is Glatzel fit? Millar Adrian & a bunch of peole who bring their boots on the bench Next game after this is Ful'm away on Sunday (4.30) then Spurs (H) on the Weds
Nebraska Red Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Has VAR checked the date and time for this?

Atticus Finch Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Depends if players need minutes. Keita might start for example
Gethin Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 (edited) Don't think it'll be quite that weak. Not what I think we should do - more what I reckon Jurgen will do Adrian / Kelleher Neco Rhys [One of Fab/Matip] Tsimikas Curtis [One of Hendo/Gini - the other will get Fulham off] Naby Minamino Divock Jota Possibility of Ox getting time off the bench and Koumetio on for his debut but be surprised if he starts Edited December 6, 2020 by Gethin
Big Red Machine Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Yeah midfield is the problem because we basically have no one from our normal second string but don't want either Hendo or Gini to play a single minute
psl Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 I reckon Gini just might have earned the night off.

The other games all offer the possibility of a bit of rotation. 1 minute ago, psl said: I reckon Gini just might have earned the night off. I'd play Gini on Wednesday and Hendo against Fulham if it came to a straight choice like that
Swipe Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 I don't think Gini or Hendo will be anywhere near this. Naby and Jones and... someone else.
Tommy Cockles Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Our hands may be forced a little by who is actually registered to play in the competition. Might have to play a couple we would otherwise have rested.
PaulMcC186 Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 I'd start Keita, Chamberlain, Origi, Minamino. Anyone that might start Sunday but doesn't need minutes to get fit shouldn't play.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 The squad is here. https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/clubs/7889--liverpool/squad/ Goalkeepers: Alisson, Adrian, Kelleher, Jaros* Defenders: Gomez, Matip, R.Williams*, Alexander-Arnold, Robertson, Tsimikas, N.Williams*, Larouci*, Koumetio Midfielders: Thiago, Fabinho, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Keita, Jones*, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cain*, Clarkson*, Dixon-Bonner* Forwards: Salah, Mane, Firmino, Jota, Minamino, Origi, Shaqiri, Elliott, Glatzel*, Longstaff*, Millar*, Stewart* * List B = players under the age of 21 with at least two years’ training at the club

Sion Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 (edited) I wouldn't even risk Keïta or Rhys Williams or Minamino. Basically anyone who is in the 18 for Fulham should be nowhere near. There's no question over integrity of the competition or anything as they're guaranteed bottom place. Same as last year's Carling Cup team for me. Can we play the really young kids? Or is the squad the squad? Edited December 7, 2020 by Sion
Gethin Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 12 minutes ago, Sion said: wouldn't even risk Keïta or Rhys Williams or Minamino. Fair play, that's nuts. Rhys is behind Phillips in the pecking order when it comes to League games, Minamino hardly plays and needs game time and giving Naby 50-60 minutes for fitness is a pretty good idea given the circumstances.

Rhys Williams is 4th choice in the league so no harm in playing him, Koumetio came off at half time for the 18s on Saturday so you’d imagine that as the centre back pairing. Think some of the players need game time like Tsimikas and Minamino so they’ll go, an hour in Keita’s legs won’t hurt either.

Its a completely pointless game. We're amassing injuries at an alarming rate. We don't need any more because they played in a friendly. Actually it's worse than a friendly because Midt might take it more seriously and fly in with tackles.
Swipe Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 I think Klopp will give minutes to some senior lads who need it and the registration thing is an issue, but don’t see now it’s nuts to suggest we rest any senior lad we can. We absolutely should.

Pick your team out of the players in Swipe's post..... (Also factor in how rare it is that Jurgen does what you're suggesting we should do) Edit: Rory's post. Jarg Armani Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 I’ve never heard of Jaros. I’m assuming it’s Baros in a fake handlebar muzzle. 3

Gethin Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 So for Wednesday Adrian (Give Kelleher the game if Allison's return is reasonably imminent) Neco Rhys Fab/Matip Tsimikas Gini Curtis Naby Jota Origi Minamino Bench: Kelleher, Koumetio, Larouci (if he still exists), Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cain*, Clarkson* Longstaff*, Millar*, Stewart* Means TAA, Robbo, Hendo & the front 3 don't travel which is just about the best we can hope for. Wouldn't be adverse to Koumetio starting over Fab/Matip & same for one of the young MF players over Gini - but I don't think Klopp will do that Then for Fulham you go something like Kelleher TAA* [Whichever of Fab/Matip doesn't play Wednesday] Phillips Tsimikas Hendo Naby Ox* Mo Bobby Mane *Give them 55-60 so they're not going into Spurs short on game time. Go as full strength as possible for Spurs
Hightown Phil Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Wijnaldum isn’t getting a plane surely? Nor Jones.

Even if you start all the kids, at least Naby and one other senior MF player has to travel - unless you start all the kids and have even fewer players on the bench (I only had 9 on that team above). Would be very unlike Jurgen but it's not impossible - still think it'll be a stronger team that most are expecting. Edited December 7, 2020 by Gethin
