'Old' German Translation

I honestly can't remember if I've asked on here before, but but a search shows nothing, so I don't think I did.

Long story very short is then when we were clearing out my Nan's belongings after she died a few years back, in a tatty suitcase in the wardrobe among her old photos was what is basically a postcard with Hitler on the front. The rear is a hand written note (in German) that we'd love to know more about, especially as she used to mention occasionally that her elder brother helped at the liberation of Bergen-Belsen and we think it might be related.

I've had a German mate have a look and he struggled to read it and he says it's difficult as apparently it's in 'Old German' which means he can't translate the vast majority of it.. doesn't help that it's handwritten either. So, I gave it up as a failed experiment, but after finding it again, I'd love to have another crack at it.

Does anyone know where I'd even begin with something like this? I don't think it needs a WW2 specialist or anything, but Googling 'Old German Dialect Translation' or similar is an absolute minefield *pardon the pun*
