Failed Signings that would have succeeded in this team

Here I am mostly thinking about our style of play than klopps magic wand that ensures they pretty much all succeed.

I was just reminded that Christian Ziege used to play for us and my first thought was how absolutely different things likely would have turned out today between him and Carragher if they were out left back options today.

Ziege had all the attributes to be a massive success for us as a modern fullback, whilst Carragher would probably never even get a sniff at that position under Klopp.

Robbie Keane I reckon would have been pretty good in Firmino's position too. Not as good as Bobby, but pretty good.

Klopp would have got the best out of Shelvey I reckon. He probably still wouldn't be playing for us now but would have had a better career.

If you count Glen Johnson as a failed signing, then him.

Never thought of him as "failed", remember him being a solid RB for years. Maybe his injury record counts against him I guess?

I liked him as a player. Loads of people hated him. That's why I said if you count him as a failed signing. I think he'd be brilliant in a Klopp team.

He was a victim of that "defenders should defend first and foremost" mentality, pundits used constantly criticise him and expect him to be Carragher, his attacking contribution was never acknowledged.

My main memory of Keane was him pointing at moaning whenever the ball didn't find him. He wanted the team to play his way. I don't think fitting in was  his strength.

Couldn't defend, couldn't really cross a ball with consistency; mostly used to get forward, stop and pass the responsibility to someone else.

One of many players between titles who was flattered by the utter shyte we signed elsewhere.

Not really a failed signing but Maxi Rodriguez would have been superb in this squad

Slight tangent to original question but had he remained fully fit, I think Klopp would have had Ings in the squad/team alot.

For the transfers, I could Zenden playing for a Klopp team.

Irish Liverpool fans are obsessed with Keane being under rated or not been given a fair chance. I think its because he was so pivotal for the international team and never got close to being that player for us. But I think that's just because he wasn't actually that good.

I'm Irish and couldn't stand him.

Hard to look at him now and think otherwise. He's flying.

Yeah, so I'd completely misunderstood the premise, despite their being examples in the first post.

He was unquestionably good for Spurs. Was excited when we got him.

Proper s*** and annoying for us.
