They’re on the wrong of some injuries today which is nice. One centre back went off, their right wing back went off and their left wing back got injured in the warm up.

And they still won 2-1 and are 2nd in the table. Their opponents, Crotone, are bottom of the table tho.

We’re not playing like a team that will win this game. I have a feeling it will look and feel like the Napoli aways.

The good news is that they haven’t got in them what Napoli did thankfully. Couldn’t be arsed watching that one again.

Yeah I reckon we might ring the changes and look like a bag of rags

Not sure. I think the idea of being able to give players two games off by winning the next two might trump all.

I can’t decide. The thing is we could do with matip and thiago on blob for city but does that mean playing them or resting them? I’m too preoccupied with the city game to think clearly about this one. Plus we are basically through.

We have to mess up massively to send this to the last day at least. I think I'd hope to see 30 minutes or so of Thiago and then hopefully he's good to go for City, but you can't really do that with a centre back.

I'm fairly laid back about City to be honest, if we lose, we lose and if we don't great. But we're gonna drop points this season and it won't be as much of an issue as losing in say 18/19.

A point here is fine - the Anfield game is on the 25th so not even thinking that far down the line yet.

If we take four points from the next two we'll qualify by drawing against Ajax worst case. Best case is that four points would see us through. Win Tuesday and we can do some fairly heavy rotation for the final three games anyway.

With you on that.

If we do drop points, the only thing really bad would be the timing of it as it would be nice to start opening up a gap. But with the injuries, the mentalness of this season and the fact that points away to City are always a bonus rather than an expectation, for me it's almost a free hit.

This sort of season is the sort where the top 6 head to head mini league might make the difference. City will beat Arsenal and United home and away, we never seem to. Spurs look good, might depend when you play them, we’ve done well to get Chelsea out the way. If one of us or city beats the other home and away it could decide the league. I’m just rambling at this point. I had an onion tied to my belt, which was the fashion at that time.

Hahahaha. We are 6 from 6 in the mini league already. Also a little understated I feel is our start. It's been brutal if we're being honest.

First 8 games Everton, Chelsea and City away as well as Arsenal and Leeds at home? If you're writing games down in order of difficultly 1-38 what's that, 1, 3, 5, 9 and 13 or something around that?

Pretty sure PSL was talking about this and city

The 5 subs gives him huge scope. I cant see any of Henderson/Wijnaldum/Thiago and Mane/Salah/Firmino getting the full 90mins.

Jones Henderson Milner ==> HT ==> Jones Thiago Wijnaldum

Salah Firmino Jota ==> HT ==> Shaqiri Origi Mane

......or something like that

I think, why bother waiting until qualification secure. We know we have to win 3 draw as a minimum. Why not take this game as a free hit, get some more miles into Takeo, Williams, keita and Jota and give tsimi a run out of fit for example.
