magneto Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 My team: Alisson Trent Matip VVD Robbo Fabinho Keita Hendo Mo Bobby Sadio They're going to try and prove a point with their purchases and will try play as many of their "new boys" as possible.
magneto Posted September 17, 2020 Author Posted September 17, 2020 Paul Tierney's the ref. Our one and only defeat whilst he was ref was the away loss at Arsenal last season.
Jarg Armani Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 I’m neutral about Tierney. He’s from greater Manchester so I assume he is a Ferguson sleeper cell, but he doesn’t seem to have been activated yet. Probably waiting for a key game in a title race once United stop being s***. 1

I think picking Keita ahead of Gini for this fixture is a huge gamble, and not one I would take.
Swipe Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 Yeah I'll be stunned if it's not Hendo, Fab, and Gini. Also not sure they'll play as many new signings as they did at Brighton.

I was also thinking about it from the context of the contract and not wanting have a conversation about why he is not making the first XI for one of our most difficult games. Breaking down battles by side-of-pitch, looking at Chelsea at Brighton - their right side (so side down which Keita or Wijnaldum would be stationed) was James (RB), Christiansen (RCB), Kante (RCM), Havaertz (R-AM), Loftus Cheek (#10) - contrasted to the left Alonso, Zouma, Jorginho, Mount (L-AM), Werner (more left than right) Loftus Cheek is unlikely to play, meaning it could be Kovacic back into a midfield 3 or push Havertz into #10 and bring back in Pulusic. Lampard could even swap out Loftus Cheek for a 3rd CB and go 3-4-3.

Would be shocked if Matip came back in, 45 minute pre season and up against a quick player like Werner would be a thing I think we'd avoid. Think he'll start the (potentially) two league cup games but Gomez stays in for the four league games. Probably see him at Everton in the fifth game to combat Calvert-Lewin.
Earl Hafler Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 Gomez needs to keep the line but that'll be easier with Fabinho back in the side

Cam Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 Alisson TAA Gomez VvD Robertson Henderson Fabinho Thiago Salah Firmino Mane Throw him in at the deep end. If he is outdone by Havertz just send him back to Bayern and cite a cooling-off period.
growler Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 This one of those get in, get our 3 points and get out. fab hendo Gini.
stressederic Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 Isn't the time for this wrong? I thought kick off was 16:30?
