The nipper is a year away from applying to go to university, which will come as a painful shock to those of you who remember when she was born.

She's a septic, born here, lived all her life here but can get an Irish passport through me or a British one through her mother.

Does anyone know - or know how to find out - what the criteria are to qualify as domestic rather than overseas? I'm guessing it's residency, but how do you prove that with no tax returns?

Say she had to be resident for 3y, then theoretically if I moved to the UK now, she'd have to wait past A levels before she'd qualify as domestic? If it's a year, can she go to the UK, live with my family & work for a year?

She'd really like to study there, I just don't want to foot a 40k per year bill
