Ipad camera problem

My mum's Ipad has an issue where video chat in Facebook messenger isn't working. Facetime can access the camera but if there's a group chat on Facebook Messenger , nothing happens when she taps Accept when it calls. Also, there's no Camera option listed under Messenger in Settings. Numerous resets havent worked. 

 

I'll warn you that she's a complete f***ing nuisance with anything technical and it wouldn't surprise me if she accidentally managed to launch nuclear missiles from her phone one day. 

I've been on the phone with her for an hour and need an afternoon on Call Of Duty
