Gethin Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 I wouldn't be that surprised to see Jones and one of the other young subs tonight start
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted January 2, 2020 Author Posted January 2, 2020 Adrian I think starts Next game after this is Spurs on the 11th, so a moderate rest, then ManU on the 19th. And then for some reason a Thursday (23) vs Wolves
McBain Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Snot them, but with a weakened team. We're their bogey team
psl Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 (edited) Origi, Lallana, Minamino. Some others. Keita hopefully. Maybe Shaqiri? Edited January 2, 2020 by psl
Chewie Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 We've a week after this to spurs and little rotational options Only change to the back 4 would be milner at LB..which in turn takes him out of midfield, leaving Hendo, Gini, lallana, Jones with the front 3 plus origi and Minamino for upfront Not a lot he can do...
Cheesecake Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Any of the injured players likely to be fit for this, bench even?
Gethin Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Any of the injured players likely to be fit for this, bench even? No. And he’s ruled Keita out
Swipe Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Klopp’s comments tonight suggest a much changed team.
psl Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Klopp’s comments tonight suggest a much changed team. What did he say? It always seemed likely. He has always rested players in the FA Cup.
LicK Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 (edited) Klopp’s comments tonight suggest a much changed team. We've got almost no cover other than kids for defence and midfield now. Two senior outfield subs in Lallana and Origi, plus Minamino. Wouldn't be surprised if we're not far off the Villa team. Edited January 2, 2020 by LicK
Maldini Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 (edited) Reckon he'll have to give one or both of the full backs a rest and same with Hendo and Gini, they've played a hell of a lot of football and they'll both play against Spurs and Utd. Mane is due a rest too. Alisson Hoever/WilliamsGomezPhillipsRobertson LallanaMilnerMinamino SalahFirminoOrigi Edited January 2, 2020 by Maldini
Rory Fitzgerald Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 We’re half way through a season and down to the minimum of senior players. If any of them have even a doubt or minor complaint then I’d be for resting them. They’ve played something like 13 games in 44 days since end of November. It’s shame we didn’t get a non league team at home to make this selection easier.
Maldini Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 What did he say? It always seemed likely. He has always rested players in the FA Cup."We will have fresh legs"
Cam Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 Adrian I think startsDefinitely. AdrianWilliams Phillips vdB MilnerJones Lallana MinaminoIbe Origi Elliott
Billy Talbot Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 Could have done with the ev not beating Burnley and Newcastle and being enough points worse off to see the FA cup as the distraction it is being forced into resting as many as we will. I think they will make changes, but there’s will be the senior side and will be looking give us a bloody nose.
stressederic Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 Definitely. AdrianWilliams Phillips vdB MilnerJones Lallana MinaminoIbe Origi ElliottIbe’s cup tied
Case Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 Reckon he'll have to give one or both of the full backs a rest and same with Hendo and Gini, they've played a hell of a lot of football and they'll both play against Spurs and Utd. Mane is due a rest too.AlissonHoever/WilliamsGomezPhillipsRobertsonLallanaMilnerMinaminoSalahFirminoOrigiThis won't be far off I suspect, but I'd start Elliot for Bobby. Origi left, Mo central, Harv right. Suspect Jones may start instead, with Minamino in a front three.
Cheesecake Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 (edited) I wouldn't be risking Gomez seeing as the others who can fill in there are still injured - Matip, Lovrem, Fabinho. We're almost at bare bones for midfield too. Those lads need to come back quick and be ready. growler Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 Given the next few weeks fixture list looks lighter, he could go half strong with changes at half time. Don’t want players to lose rhythm - counterbalance to fatigue, not playing enough, or too sporadic. Got break in feb too and want to tie up title in March if we can and would be good to be in fa cup and European cup still.
cocknose Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 No way vvd doesent start.Reckon we will only see 2/3 changes maxWe've got almost no cover other than kids for defence and midfield now. Two senior outfield subs in Lallana and Origi, plus Minamino. Wouldn't be surprised if we're not far off the Villa team.I can't see that at all
