So, what player has played the best against us?

Who scared the s*** out of us on a regular basis?

Who was just a spawny c*** (sorry NYR)?

Who was our nemesis?

Gotta be Clive Walker for me

In the early 70's, Arsenal came and beat us 2-0 - night match I think - and Alan Ball simply ran the show to an extent I have never seen before or, possibly, since.

My (reasonable) Bluenose FiL claimed he was the best he ever saw play for them, and so far ahead of his team mates it wasn't true. The humour factor of his managerial career tends to obscure how good he was as a player.

The list of Keepers who had worldies in front of the Kop is a long one, but Pat Jennings stands out.

Who was the no-mark at Charlton who scored a hat trick against us, and nothing else of note ever?

Kevin f***ing Lisbie

April 2004: Henry hat-trick as "The Invincibles" overturned 2-1 interval lead to win 4-2, and Henry had Carra on toast.
September 2003: Kevin Lisbie hat-trick in 3-2 win at Charlton. Last goal was a fine effort in retrospect.

May 2003: Peter Schmeichel aged 39 gave perhaps the best shot-stopping display I have ever seen as a City team including Fowler and Anelka won 2-1 at Anfield.

That was when I could get over to get to games regularly. Thankfully now I can't and haven't been at a Liverpool match since the defeats to Roma and Real Madrid, and won't be going to any anytime soon.

Thierry Henry and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink used to give Carragher huge problems on a regular basis.

Going back further the Brian Greenhoff often seemed to score against us.

One of the most impressive players I've seen at Anfield was Faustino Asprilla, but only the one time.
