There might be a previous post on this, and if so, I apologize and please merge.

I have to say that I never really believed in anything spiritually. Even as a little kid I thought the whole concept was absurd. I was brought up as a Catholic, but mortified my grandmothers when I was really young by going to the Baptist church for "Band of Hope" because I liked the singing and the stories. I hung around the Mosque because my mates went there, but it was so much more secular-slanted and they weren't serious at all. Then I went to a Church-in-Wales high school so I got a pretty good exposure to official religions.

None of it really made an impact on me. I tried to keep my mind open to it, but it just never broke through. And I've gotten more intolerant of religion in general as I've gotten older. I resent the intolerance, judgements, hatred, hypocrisy and phoniness of so much of it. That counts for a small percentage of every religion, but there are so many in particular religions who tolerate that behavior because to be honest and critical is so unacceptable.

I assumed that I would become more open as I've gotten older as death becomes more imminent, but honestly, I'm racing in the other direction.
